What's New At ConcordCarpenter?

This week I finished painting my workshop floor with Rustoleum's EpoxyShield paint.

The paint comes with decorative paint chips that you throw on top of the wet epoxy paint.  I was skeptical at first but the end result was a super durable and professional looking floor.  The photo below shows how nasty my shop floor looked. Look at all the paint and glue drippings and scrapes.

This photo below shows the final product.

The floor came out so nice and is so durable that it motivates me to clean it every time I do a project.

A funny thing occurred when prepping this floor with paint. When I was relocating everything I found an old bowling ball bag.  I instantly recognized it as a bowling ball that I modified 16 years ago into a ball and chain as a bachelor party prank.

Since that time 3 or 4 bachelors have had this ball and chain handcuffed to their ankle.

Motivated to use it one more time I used it in one of my tool review videos as an analogy between corded and cordless tools.  Watch Video.

Recent Tool Reviews and Videos

I recently finished filming three videos on very diffident products.  The first video is a brush-less tool where I made an attempt at humor by using a prop and the second is a really cool new remote controlled window shade called QMotion. The third is on a great workshop addition!

QMotion Shades are easy to install and require no special tools.

Their battery power means simple installation - no wires, drywall damage or expensive electrician's bills. The preprogrammed shades require only a single step for setup.

QMotion's innovative technology allows the shades to "learn" custom positions with just a few simple steps.
An option to preprogram the raising and lowering of shades to selected times throughout the day adds an even greater level of simplicity and helps reduce home energy consumption.

HTC Portamate PM1000 Universal Tool Base

Just having the ability to move huge tools around your shop is a major thing.  Whether it's to access larger or longer stock, service the machine or paint the floor - you need to be able to move your tools.
