What's Going On At Concord

Carpenter:

"Sometimes wishes do come true. Eliminating--or at least minimizing--corded tools on jobsites is one dream that seems within reach for professional remodelers."

This past week I was quoted in the current issue of Qualified Remodeler's Magazine on the topic of cordless tool and batteries.

The article is a good read and is called Cutting The Cord Has Never Been So Easy

What's new with the Geodesic Biodiome?

This week I met with the high-school students and we went over the bio-dome construction plans - I think I'm in over my head!!!!   WOW - its alot of cuts and angles..... should be fun!

I suggested that they call my local lumberyard and the local garden nursary to look into lumber, plant and submersible pump donations.

We think we secured a location for the dome at Gainingground.org  - worst case scenerio we'll build it in one of our backyards.

Problem Solving For Newsletter Subscribers

Recently a newsletter subscriber email asking if I would recommend installing a permanent vertically mounted ladder on the side of her house as a fire escape.

She was going to have a contractor install a wooden ladder with lag bolts to the side of the house.   I advised her against using anything as a fire escape that was not made specifically for that purpose.

The email exchange I had with her prompted me to write this article.
