What's new at Concord Carpenter?

window safety

It's been a hot few week in the Northeast and I recently had the opportunity to help some folks child proof their home for a toddler as well as choos a few new windows with integrated window opening control devices.

While doing some research on this topic I learned that 5,200 children are injured from falls from windows every year.  Lear how you can protect your children and prevent a potential tragedy .

Save Money When Remodeling

Last week I spoke about my theory on working smarter not harder which I related to   traveling and packing lighter on the job-site!    I used the  Bosch CM12 miter saw as an example of lighter more compact tools that accomplish 90 percent of what most of us need on a daily basis.

This week I want to share with you a product that I have recently discovered that solves a problem.  Not only does it save me time, but also money!

I recently started using shark bite plumbing connectors during the demo phases of my bathroom remodeling jobs.  The connectors help prevent work stoppages and save me both time and money.  Save money????

Universal Dimmer Switches:

I love a product that solves a problem.

Energy-efficient bulbs usually come with performance trade offs from slow start-up to flickering and fluttering, reduced dimming range and inconsistent illumination.

If you want to dim an energy efficient bulb you better make sure  the CFL and LED bulbs are labeled "dimmable" to function properly on a dimmer.

Now they make an affordable Universal Dimmer Switch that is capable of dimming all types of bulbs.
