 What's new at Concord Carpenter?

Hi Guys,

I apologize for not sending out a newsletter in the past two weeks.  The reality is I probably only send out 42 issues a year.  I have two reasons for the lack of newsletter.

I just got back from a family vacation in Cancun Mexico and nothing beats checking email and sipping coffee while watching the sun rise over the ocean!

 sunrise-over-cancun

The week prior to that I was at the World of Concrete in Las Vegas, NV checking out all of the new and improved tools there.

The most exciting new releases this year may very well have been from Bosch.   Here's a sneak peek I filmed of what Bosch is coming out with. Check it out!!!

ACC Bathroom Feeder Project

For several weeks I have been mentioning an upcoming project we will be working on here at A Concord Carpenter.

The drawing below shows the bath project we're going to use as a website feeder project to produce editorial content, product placement and how-to content on my website and newsletter.

I have decided to take a large bathroom and make it into two smaller bathrooms using high end fixtures.

This bathroom project will be the source of approx. 25 articles, 10 videos, newsletter articles and many many social media posts.   I will be setting up a time release camera and writing articles on all aspects of the project and also writing 3-4 articles for Extreme-How-to magazine, Pro Tool Reviews Magazine on different tools and products.

If you have a innovative or bathroom related product you'd like to see featured in the ACC bath remodel series contact me here to discuss it.

We are also looking for sponsors for this project and there are plenty of opportunities for more!

Prevent Laundry Flooding:

Do you turn off your washing machine water supply every time you finish washing clothes?  Of course you don't.
Only a small percentage of people actually do that and I personally think those people are crazy.

The reality is that consistently turning off your water supply valve can save you from the nightmare of 400 to 500 gallons of water per hour  leaking into your home, resulting in thousands of dollars of water damage.

Advanced Lighting Solutions:  Dimming Technology

As energy efficient lighting solutions such as LED and CFL bulbs continue to become more and more popular, new lighting control solutions are required for optimal performance of energy-efficient bulbs.

Newer, energy-efficient bulbs have specific needs for effective dimming and to address performance issues.

Homeowners expect the dimming devices they've been using for years with incandescent bulbs will give the same level of performance when using an energy efficient bulb.  But it does not work that way . . .

High Filtration Multi-Layer Vacuum Bags and HEPA filters

Replacing standard vacuum bags with high filtration multi-layer bags, and adding exhaust filters, prevents allergen particles from escaping into the air while vacuuming.

Using one of these bags with an active HEPA filter will ensure that you capture small particles and not release them back into the air through the vacuums exhaust port.

RIDGID 7 - Inch Tile Saw is a Keeper!

The RIDGID 7 Inch tile Saw is a lightweight, affordable, solid tile saw with durably quality features.

In my opinion this saw is serious DIY-er or light duty PRO saw.

As a contractor I would use this innovative saw as my go-to saw on small jobs where using a hand cutter is not feasible and carrying and setting up a larger saw is a hassle or space is limited.
