What's new at Concord Carpenter?

 homefixated-baby

Hi Guys,

There are a couple of great reviews on my site AConcordCarpenter.  Check them out if you get the chance!

Our friend Marc Lyman editor at HomeFixated.com is a new dad.  For those of you that know Marc you also know that this Californian has flowing blonde hair.  Recent emails back and forth amongst fellow website editors jokingly have asked if the new baby has Marc's hair.  This picture was Marc's response.

Congrats Marc!

How To Plan A Bathroom Remodel

ACC Bathroom Project

We just got word from American Standard that our bathroom fixtures will arrive on April 5th.   We chose to use their Portsmouth Collection on this project.  Once they arrive on site we will start the demo on the bathroom in earnest.
I NEVER advise gutting a bathroom prior to having all of the fixtures on site.

A proper sequence of events should be spelled out clearly so materials are on hand at the right time.

Many a folk hastily jump into a bath remodel project and unknowingly throw away money by not taking the proper steps to organize their project.   Whether you're a contractor or you're a homeowner doing the work the planning process is the same.

I just finished an article that will walk you through the steps needed to remodel a bathroom properly.

Kershaw Funxion 8200GRY

Kershaw Funxion 8200GRY Review:

At $36.00 this is an outstanding every day carry knife with a decent all purpose blade.  I beat the tar out of this knife for a week and found no structural defects or issues with it.  Read my review here.

Bosch Diamond Blade

Bosch Diamond Cutting Masonry Blades

Based on user feedback Bosch developed a diamond blade combining metal powders with diamond formulations that cut "hard" concrete, "green" concrete, tile and general purpose masonry extremely well.

In the remodeling field, dust collection is becoming the norm and not the exception.

Milwaukee is now offering a M12 Lithium-ion powered, HEPA,  dust extractor that fits most brands SDS rotary hammers and electric powered drills.

We are currently using the HAMMERVAC on our job sites and will report back soon with an in depth review.
