What's new at ConcordCarpenter

Hi Guys,
I spent the weekend entertaining 11 teenage girls at Spooky World in NH and then at my house for a sleepover.   The occasion was my daughters 14th birthday.   While I had fun with my daughter and her friends I sure wish they all came with a volume control.

This weekend I put the finishing touches on our 2014 media guide.  Please consider ACC as as source for advertising.  Very few online publications have the day to day connection with the remodeling industry as I do.  ACC has a trusted history of only promoting quality products.  Our confidence in a product can only help build brand as well as sell product.

Winter Clothing

Brrrrr - Winter is rapidly approaching and the ACC crew has been busy testing cold weather clothing on the job site. [photo below]

Phil has been testing the Milwaukee and Dewalt heated jackets and I have been testing the Bosch heated jacket.  The heated jacket got lots of looks and comments due to the fact that a an LED logo illuminates when the jacket is on.

I'm wearing it [photo below]  with my tall [Spooky World] Zombie friend. I've never tried wearing stilts, this guy was good - he could run in them too!

While my Bosch heated jacket review is not ready for publishing yet, I've learned a few things about all heated jackets that you should know before ordering one.   The MOST important is to order the jacket to fit your body.  If the jacket is loose, like mine,  you will not benefit 100% from the heated coils. More on this in the review this week.

Phil and I plan on attending STAFDA in two weeks.   Several companies are planning some big releases - more on that soon!

See you in Vegas.

On the ACC website front we've been busy creating great content articles and video reviews.

Stock Size Mantle vs. Semi-Custom Mantles

Many fireplaces built in today's homes are of a standard size and easily accept a catalog purchased mantle.  These mantles usually come shipped in a box in three pieces.   The three pieces are easily assembled with twist cam locks and a screwdriver and installed to mounting blocks installed on the wall.

Sometimes  situations dictate a custom mantle.   Existing house configurations such as windows, doors or bookcases may be in the way. The problem is custom is costly.   There is another option ....   See what we did!
