What's new at Concord CarpenterHi Guys,
I'm sitting home on the couch just a few hours after having foot surgery. I had a massive bone removed. The spur had been causing foot pain when I walked and after ignoring with it for one year I decided enough was enough.
This past Saturday we finished installing the snow melt system under the wheelchair ramp for our friend, Rob Butts.
BEFORE PHOTO: 25 year old wheelchair ramp
We tore up a 25 year old brick wheelchair ramp, installed a WarmlyYours snow melting system and then reinstalled new "Patriot Place" pavers. [Left over from the New England Patriots stadium]

All of the materials used to install this system and new walkway was donated and all of the labor was volunteer labor. We were able replace the old walkway, make it better and capable of melting snow and ice - for free!
Weaving in the Patriot Place Pavers
I'm so very proud of all the people who came together to help me organize this project. Many people were needed to make this happen.

Everyone was busy and had their own stuff going on but they still took the time to help out someone in need. I loved being part of this.
Telescope Dome Installed
We finally got the telescope delivered and assembled. What a fun and challenging project!
Last Tuesday we installed it, with the help of a crane, just one day prior to a big snowstorm. Talk about pushing the weather envelope.
We had two camera running on this install but unfortunately one of our camera SD cards malfunctioned and we lost hundreds of pictures. I'll be writing a detailed article on this soon and showing the telescope installation [2nd crane needed] as well.

Perfect tight fitting miters are only a small part of finish carpentry.
Finish carpenters must learn to measure, mark and cut more
accurately and work with smaller tolerances.
It's easy to misread the tape measure, confuse numbers and tapes can
flex and distort the accuracy of your measurement. Over the years I've
learned a few tips that help me when trimming our a room.
