What's New At Concord Carpenter?

This weekend I spent several hours working on driver training with my middle child.  She just received her learners permit and needed some road experience before starting her drivers training class..

We worked on power slides, pit maneuvers, e-brakes spins and brake-stands first then took it off road for some 4-wheeling!  . . . Just kidding.  we actually  tried to stay in our lane, not over-steer or hit anything!!

It was fun and scarey at the same time kinda like a roller coaster ride with bid time "pucker-factor" that things could seriously go wrong!!

We have many, many more hours to log behind the wheel but I'm sure glade the first 4 hours are over with!

Concord Carpenter Workshop News

Hi Guys,

This past week we've been busy working our shop.  We are cleaning house to create space for a full time video studio to be used for filming product and tool reviews and other related video work.

This past Saturday almost the entire ACC team got together to perform Head-to-Head testing on some of the leading tool manufacturer circular saws.

The weather cooperated and we were able to do most of our cutting outdoors.  Wearing short sleeve shirts in the winter outside is a major plus if you call 48 degree warm!

Phil B, assistant editor at ACC, is taking the lead on this Head-toHead review and we will follow a similar format as our track saw "head-to-head" this past January.   I will be doing the video work for the review.

It sure was nice to get everyone in on this project and an even bigger blast to test and use some of the nicer tools on the market.

It is our goal at ACC to do one Head-to-Head test a month.  If you're a tool manufacturer and want to be involved - send me a note.  If you're on my go-to list stand by for invitations to participate.

 Tool Storage Systems

Tool storage systems are as important as the tools that are used to get the job done. The average contractor's tools are valued at thousands if not tens of thousands of dollars.  That's an investment work protecting.

A year or two ago I did some research on the Bosch L-Boxx "Click and Go" system.  As part of my research I decided to completely revamp my 6' x 10' tool trailer to test out the effectiveness and efficiency that this system was supposed to deliver.

Call it a "tool trailer make-over" or "pimping my trailer" it was a large endeavor and took some work.   Was it worth it?  Read this.

If you haven't taken the time to analyze your work efforts during their course of a day you should.  Are you organized?   Read this article to learn more
