February 17, 2024 This week my talk is titled, Language of Love. What is your love language? How do you communicate what is in your heart? How do you share your love with the world?
Within our relationships we
find our greatest opportunity to shine and share our love. Relationships can be enriching and rewarding, as well as being a container for our personal development, healing, and evolution. Society tells us that marriage, family, and community are extremely important and we are bombarded with media content that underscores this. We scroll the social sites and see beautiful happy people living extraordinary lives and if we are not careful, we can spiral down into feelings of
shame, anxiety, or frustration. Comparing ourselves and our lives to others lead to living life from the outside in. When we nurture self-love, self-compassion, and self-worth within us, we can live from the inside out and have an abundance of love to share and channel into our relationships and our work.
What society doesn't talk so much about is our primary relationship, the one that matters most, our relationship
with ourselves and with God. This week we begin with looking at ourselves and how we can better show up as our most authentic selves as a foundational element to meaningful, fulfilling, and loving relationships with ourselves and others. What is the language of your love? And, are you communicating it clearly? Check out Growing Edge Live Podcast where I interview soul centered individuals that are
doing good work in the world! I loved Episode 5, my awesome conversation with Charles Geddes, the founder of Mind Your Own Becoming. We talk about staying focused on becoming your most authentic self, listening to inner guidance, and enjoying the journey. You can find us on Amazon, Apple, and all your favorite podcast platforms. It really helps us if you follow, subscribe, and share - click HERE to listen. Thank you and happy listening! This week on Growing Edge Live:Guest: NIMO PATEL
Empty Hands Music’s mission is to spread seeds of goodness in the world through selfless service, music, and love. All of Empty Hands Music's offerings are gifts to the world. Empty Hands is a 501c3 US-based Non-Profit, 100% Gift offering with an intention to spread seeds of goodness through its music,
events & sharings all across the world, as well as through its grassroots, arts-based service work from the Gandhi Ashram, for underprivileged children in the slums of Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India.
Nimo Patel, is a world-renowned hip hop musician, humanitarian and ambassador of love and peace. His music and music videos have traversed the world to over 100 million viewers through MTV, Youtube,
Tony Robins Events, the BBC Channel and more. Nimo has shared his heart-felt message in over 20 countries from schools, refugee camps, prisons and beyond. Through his Non-Profit, Empty Hands Music, he continues to use music and art as an inspiring agent of change. Most recently Nimo took a group of 17 underprivileged children from India on a world tour of a dance drama musical show he directed called “Jai Jagat” (Victory to Planet Earth).
The Transformation: Nimo is many times recognized for his degree from Wharton Business School, or for his high-flying wall-street job, or as the rebel who left wall street to pursue his passion
in music and rose to fame in early 20s as an MTV rap star. But the story wouldn’t be complete if it ended there. Over the last 14 years Nimo has been serving the poorest of poor in the slums of Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Using the arts as a tool of human transformation. In spite of having the dream life, Nimo felt "I was not at peace, not content and not in a daily space of joy and gratitude. I began wondering, where does this all go, when does it stop, where does this end?” To find the answers, he did some courageous
experiments with his life. He let go the money. The fame. He even stopped singing altogether. To “come alive” in a new way, he meditated in the Himalayas, drastically simplified his lifestyle, started volunteering with slum children in Ahmedabad, where he has been deeply impacting the lives of thousands of children over the last 14 years. After some time, he embraced his gifts in music again. The work was the same, but he was no longer the same. He calls it Empty Hands Music – “We arrive on this planet empty-handed and we will all soon leave empty-handed. So then, how and in what spirit do we want to spend the time in between?” emptyhandsmusic.org
