I used that as a meme the other day on a
few social media sites.
And of course it's truth.
It's easier to get the symbols and trinkets
of someone else's success than to go out
and pursue your own.
I'm actually not saying that as a bad thing.
Belonging to something is good. It's
important in many ways.
For years I would walk around trying to
convince people they should "stand for
something," not get fre*e stuff for taking
a survey or filling out a credit card application.
It's easier to take people for where they are,
and invite them to be part of something different.
Hey, we all wear tee shirts!
And most of us eat pizza.
And all of us have times in our lives - whether
we recognize them or not - that are our calling
to something that gives meaning to our lives.
We get moments that offer us chances to
stop being just consumers.
And start being contributors...in a profound way.
Leadership.
Service.
And being willing accept abundance and
wealth in return.
Heck, maybe you're the one giving out
the shirts and the pizza!
