Starcycles with Georgia Stathis

I’m sitting down to sort out my thoughts during this Full Moon at 9 Aquarius and 9 Leo. As usual, the energy of the Full Moon is that of ‘stretched energy’ which is exacerbated by the fact that transiting Jupiter (always an ‘over the top’ energy) is at a 90˚ position to this Full Moon. Jupiter pushes us to get going on something we are envisioning, and since Venus is retrograde in Leo until September 3, 2023, moments of clarity show up when least expected and leave just as quickly, like catching clouds in our hands. This is because all the new ideas percolating below the surface are not completely formed. They need time to incubate and ferment and develop in the deepest parts of our psyches which are being pushed to change by Pluto in the last degree of Capricorn. And Pluto moves at its own pace and only moves when it feels like it.

These are not easy times. There is a huge push to decide and decide everything now. The frustration is that we can’t really decide because of this deep change happening inside our souls whose views and values are not the same as they might have been even a few months ago before April. If you need an image, think about a caterpillar who has spun themselves a cocoon and they are in the last stages of development inside the cocoon but really don’t know that they will soon break out and become a butterfly. Those last phases of transmutation must be painful, and they take time and I suspect the caterpillar remains in a state of limbo while all these organic changes are happening inside of them – it may even be painful as they go through that process. Then they push out of the cocoon another, I am sure, challenging movement towards their future.

The ‘push’ you are feeling is Pluto, who is very black and white about decision making, and its 90˚ square to the transiting North and South Nodes, which just returned to Aries and Libra respectively, for the first time in about 18 to 19 years, is causing very heavy bouts of depression, sorrow, because we are mourning the past-as we morph into this transmuted state. Society grieves because the world is changing so rapidly providing few answers that could bring relief. This can be terrifying.

This started happening in a very strong way around mid-July 2023 as the Nodes moved into 29 Aries and 29 Libra. The transiting Nodes (which have much to do with the Moon and human emotions) were in Taurus and Scorpio for the last 18 months, there was more patience, more sitting and deciding before making decisions. Regardless of the pandemic, the world political situation, people were somehow making it but now things are different. The North Node moving into Aries is not as patient, can be very reactive and even somewhat narcissistic – and this is because the cycle is just starting. The clear ability to negotiate or mediate falls away as we begin this new cycle and South Node in Libra, the master of mediation, is having to learn a new way in which to mediate these times. The cycle is only a few days old, so it is in the baby stages of its evolution.

Increased anxiety, frustration, and even anger once under control has changed as the Nodes, now in cardinal action signs (Aries and Libra) are squared by cardinal Pluto in Capricorn for several months yet to come. The Aries North Node is ruled by Mars, a most impatient entity, wanting action, and requiring answers. Since Mars is currently in the sign of Virgo and opposing Saturn, this increase of impatience is everywhere we turn. It’s in the stores, on the roads, on the hiking trails, and, of course, online. Life is like driving in the wrong gear while the car is attempting to climb a hill.

Mars in Virgo with the North Node moving through Aries isn’t helping either. Mars in Virgo wants a definite plan, an order or a plan or something written out so that progress is evident. But…Venus is still retrograde, and Pluto is stuck at those last degrees of the old cycle of Capricorn since 2008, and saying, “You need to wait until I decide (Pluto decides) which direction to go. And to do that, you need to alter your life. You do that by letting go of things that are holding you back from the new path. Some sacrifice must be paid to cross to the other side where a new life awaits you. Give me something – and I will give you back your life!”. And consider this, until Pluto finally exits Aquarius permanently in late November 2024, it may feel as though you are stuck or unable to ‘see’ what that future is. So, what to do?

Learn to wait. Do the little things that move you forward daily. Pluto has a lot to do with money and security and its question becomes, “How are you managing your resources? Have you taken a hard and pragmatic look at what you spend, what you make, and how you allocate? You don’t have to make a lot of money to be secure. You just must manage it using your resources wisely and treating them just as importantly as you do the other important things in your life. Pluto in Capricorn moving to Aquarius is moving us from more tangible daily needs to more intellectual or mental needs and values. It very well may be that a business started now, may not, really, be the same business or business model when Pluto finally goes to Aquarius, remaining there permanently in the sign of Aquarius starting at the end of November 2024!

 WHAT?????? NOOOO!!!! WHAT????

Folks, this is a tough order. It isn’t that change isn’t coming, it just isn’t coming right now because many revelations are not yet here…until Pluto finishes in Capricorn and, at least, gets out of this hard angle to the traveling nodes, keep letting go of what you know you really don’t need anymore. The rest will find its road. The added stress of Mars in an opposition to Saturn in Pisces has pushed many usually calm individuals into a state of impatient angst, which triggers more frequent angry reactions because of having to wait until things unfold.

We all want change – but change isn’t ready for us – at least right now. But…there is a giant middle space between the past (where we can’t go back) and the future (not yet completely revealed). Right now, the present that we so often ignore, is telling us to look at right now.

Start with baby steps. A good use of Mars in Virgo now is do things like fixing things you’ve been putting off that need repair. Going through old hard copy files going back past five years – why all the paper? Reviewing (though not the most fun thing in the world) your expenses, your costs, your financial obligations, and any appointments with professionals like doctors, attorneys, or counsellors you’ve put off. Stored items not used in years can go to those who can use them now. Pay it forward in whatever way you can and many of the above-mentioned activities create the space for what you really desire and what you really want or need. This type of activity blows out some of that nervous energy aiding in healthier sleep patterns and reduced worry.

Bottom line: Be patient and kind to you. Please think about actions or words coming out of you creating unnecessary rifts. Walk away when things get too heated because everyone is experiencing the unknown future. We used to see it clearly, now, not so much because Pluto is stuck in time, in a perception of reality, that may not be the only viable reality for our futures.

We are all in the same boat. Deflect anger, become a master at verbal Aikido. If confronted with someone who is obviously having a bad day, try to deflect. As Venus continues its retrograde motion through early September, relationship issues are begging to be revisited and reframed and reviewed. And they aren’t all that easy, maybe even difficult. It is your response to those relationships, both personal as well as professional, that builds bridges for the future or completely obliterates the possibility of new roadways and paths. It is your choice. We all have choice and baby steps are the quickest way to get to where we are going.

When I trained to hike the Grand Canyon years ago, to raise money for Shelter Inc, we did six months of rigid training in rain, snow, heat, and it was grueling. The biggest lesson I got from that training and that final hike was NOT to look at the top, but to look at my feet, where they were going, one step at a time. It took me there a lot faster, than if I kept looking at how far that top was and several hours later – I arrived.

Thank you all for attending my podcasts at Astrology Hub and thank you all for ordering private sessions with me. Thank you too for waiting for your appointment time, which I know is sometimes further out than you expected. I love this work and want to do the best I can for you and appreciate your patience in waiting for an appointment time. I will be doing a workshop on Tuesday September 19, 2023 for www.astrologyhub.com on wealth and wealth management, exploring the various planetary stories we have about different parts of our lives that keep us from attaining the security we need or want. Within the next two weeks or so there will be an affiliate sign up code under lectures at our website at www.starcycles.com. Meanwhile, I am heading out for a long-needed vacation in the next two weeks – thus another reason for the delay and thank you for your wonderful patience.

Warm regards,
Georgia Stathis
