"Just an update. Sleep is going brilliantly! Imogen either sleeps all the way through the night (normally 11 hours) or wakes once for a feed at 4am. I'm happy to keep this for now because I feel that she will drop it naturally or if not, I know how to wean her off it. But the most amazing thing happened on Monday night when my husband and I went out for our first date since Imogen was born (our second anniversary!). My parents looked after her and she woke up (she got into a sticky position in her for and bumped her head). So my
mum went up and comforted her like I instructed and then she took about 10 mins but SHE WENT BACK TO SLEEP. This is huge as she never would have gone back to sleep without my husband or I there before. Yay! I feel like her sleep is fixed! Thank you so much for your plan. It has worked perfectly."

Q: My mini me is no longer sleeping long
hours during the night. She usually slept at 7pm and woke up at 3am for a short check out and go back to sleep then woke up at 9am for feeding but now she is taking little naps at night and sleeps so little a day than usual. What can l do for her to sleep more at night?
A: You didn't mention your baby's age, but based on the change from longer stretches of sleep to short ones, my experience tells me she likely
just turned about 4 months old. Due to the brain development around this age, babies need to learn how to get through sleep cycles. If she needs you to recreate bedtime for her (e.g. rocking her to sleep) throughout the night, then she likely needs to learn a new way to sleep. Good thing you are now a member of our sleepy little village where we have many resources on this very topic helping babies learn to sleep more independently. Good
luck!

co-sleeping. Read on to learn more about bed-sharing and room-sharing!

Hello,
was thinking recently about an email I received a while back that made me thankful for my job! I had been working with a lovely family for a little less than a week (the parents purchased a 2-week unlimited email package). This family had a little 3-month old daughter at home, and were at the end of their rope. Their daughter is what some would call a “fussy baby” all the
time.
Well, get this: after just four days of working through our Personalized Sleep Plan®, mom let me know that her daughter was doing incredibly well, and that - much to their delight - she had been happy and content for an entire day, for the first time in her young life! Talk about a gift not only for her parents, but for her, too!
I want to remind you that you’re not selfish for wanting to improve your baby’s sleep. So often, chronic sleep deprivation has a terrible effect on your child’s disposition - even the sweetest baby can turn fussy due to exhaustion (not to mention you)! Keep this in mind, if you’re thinking about sleep coaching: helping your child learn to sleep better is one way to
get your happy, sweet baby or toddler back. ;-)
I hope reading through our weekly newsletter has helped you realize that you are not alone, and that there is hope, and a light at the end of the tunnel. Forward this to a friend, so they know they're not alone, either!
Until next week,
