Sleeping Child

"I feel like I owe you an apology for doubting your mastery in turning an insomniac child into a sleeping angel.
Guess what? He just went to sleep on his own in 5 minutes with hardly any tears at all!!
It's interesting that you were saying I was effectively holding him back (in a more polite way of course)-that's why I stayed for less time in the room last night to avoid the temptation of helping him to sleep too much. I have yet to see how tonight goes but I'm hopeful and actually think a good night's sleep might be glimmering in the distance.
Anyway I just wanted to share an update and say a big thank you. I'll keep you updated though and if I have another baby I am definitely buying a preventative sleep plan at 4 months to prevent this from happening again!!"

Q: Hi I have a 2 year old boy he never slept during the night he wakes w[h]ining 5 to 6 times a night. Still he's very active little boy during the day
he does not take naps during day.
A: If your 2-year-old isn't napping well during the day, this is likely negatively impacting his nighttime sleep as well. Waking between some sleep cycles is common, but he should be able to stay asleep. At 2 years old, he should be getting 10-12 hours of sleep at night plus a 2-3-hour nap. Sleep deprivation can lead to less
sleep due to our bodies releasing hormones to fight fatigue, so it can be a vicious cycle. Try to get him caught up on sleep first and foremost and discourage night-waking by not reinforcing it as much as possible. If you need
additional help, you know where to turn! Hang in there and good luck!

10 Naptime Tips You Can Use TODAY
Naps that are too short, or naps that are erratic, can sure get a parent down. It's especially frustrating when your baby or toddler who's been napping well suddenly goes into a "bad nap tailspin"! Today, we're sharing 10 nap time tips you can use today - right now
- to save your child's naps.
“Ferberizing” Explained
Sleep training comes in all shapes and forms, but one popular method is the Ferber method. “Ferberization” can be an effective way to teach your baby to sleep…but what is the Ferber method, exactly? How does it work? Can you adapt it to fit your situation?

Hello,
I was working on a Personalized Sleep Plan® not too long ago, and in my communication with the family, the mom indicated that she was planning to remove the crib bumpers, because the baby would be pulling up soon. The very next sentence in her message was this: "EDIT: I had to remove the mesh bumpers last night, because he's pulling up - what a difference 3 days
makes!" That made me laugh, because it's so true! Babies change so quickly in the first couple of years.
It can be tough keeping up with all the changes your little one goes through, sleep-wise, but I want to encourage you NOT to let that stop you from making meaningful changes to your baby or toddler's sleep. "Waiting it out" may work for some families, but many other families end up waiting for sleep to improve for years! Working on sleep now, even though you know
your little one's sleeping habits will change, is a good plan - it can keep your entire family from losing much-needed rest. And, of course, remember that we are always here for you! We know first-hand what it's like to have sleep ups and downs, since we're all moms and have had them, too.
I hope reading through our weekly newsletter has helped you realize that you are not alone, and that there is hope, and a light at the end of the tunnel. Forward this to a friend, so they know they're not alone, either!
Until next week,
