"The winners of the 2023 Golden Globe Awards were shot only on ARRI and Panavision cameras. The dominant camera is the ultra-popular Mini LF. Check out the list of the winners and their cameras below."

An interesting write-up with Carlos Conceicao, BG Prep Department Supervisor, talking rotoscoping, paint, and tracking with Silhouette and Mocha Pro. I found this an interesting read, especially with Carlos' interest in developing new talent for VFX work.

Very cool. A study on filmic looks via blue, green, red, yellow, and pink.

This is the course that Josh Petok has created for learning Baselight Edition for Avid.

It's not mentioned on their website, but I got an email this week about these software scopes: "The Pro version of Nobe Omniscope provides the same features you know and love, now with the ability to choose how many machines your license can be used on. Perfect for production companies or studios with a team of post-production professionals."

(video) Colorist Darren Mostyn: "In this episode I'm going to show you how I grade 8-bit footage from an iPhone - this applies to any phone or 8-bit device and shot in REC 709 NOT LOG."

(video) Like the headline says.

Not AI, but Machine Learning systems, trained on fixed data sets. But aside from the unnecessary AI marketing BS of all these systems, it doesn't mean you won't find a few very useful. Machine Learning is getting very powerful. This is worth the read.

Like the headline says. Some useful services in this roundup.

A set of downloadable BMD 4K Pocket Camera sample footage with liberal rights usage.

New: "Timecode generation; RED anamorphic support; Improved ARRIRAW playback and transcodes; PLUS Phantom CineRAW with the new EditReady Pro "

(video) The video review is embedded: "I love the modularity and sturdiness of the components, and thanks to the integration with Command Post, setup is straightforward and there are an incredible number of commands you can map to buttons, dials, sliders, and other hardware components."

Interesting: "Disney Studios collaborated with Avid to transform the offline Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) editorial archive into a real-time editorial library accessible by current productions and marketing teams. The system is a prime example of implementing key elements of the MovieLabs 2030 Vision to deliver an innovative archive experience with a secure, cloud-based search capability that streamlines production and marketing workflows."
