This Newsletter was one of the founding organizers of the Colorist Mixer - and it has a special place in my heart. We designed it to reflect the old-school Vegas get-togethers from the 1990s. |

By 2016 we were selling out with 300 attendees - and one year even rented out the top floor of the Stratosphere. The ICA took over running the Colorist Mixer in 2020 - and this is their first live Mixer at NAB since the 2020 event was canceled due to the lockdowns.
I wish Warren, Kevin, and the rest of their team the best of luck! Undoubtedly, it'll be an excellent event for everyone who attends. I toyed with the idea of making the trip, but I had competing priorities this year - and a trip to Las Vegas just didn't fit in.
In my heart-of-hearts, the next conference (and Colorist Mixer) I want to attend is IBC in Amsterdam... as an excuse to visit that lovely city. I've never been. Will it happen in 2023? Maybe. Maybe not. It's a tough financial nut to crack if there isn't a paid gig associated with it. So maybe I do it as part of a vacation? I'm sure the Tao Treasurer and I will have that discussion several times over the next few months.
One thing I definitely intend on doing...
