I've often said that Blackmagic's .1 updates are the equivalent of other developer's .5 updates. This update again proves the thesis—there is lots to dig into, including their initial foray into 'Camera to Cloud' workflows. However, one of my favorite features is minor: The ability to export a Power Grade image without automatically generating a .drx file. I'm linking to the Read Me document.

For the editors out there, "While there are a number of new features across the board in Resolve 18.6, it’s the Final Cut Pro-like range-based keywording that finally works, albeit with several steps"
"You can now connect your own enterprise cloud storage to Frame.io; our improved side-by-side comparison viewer now supports videos, images, PDFs, audio files, and design files, making it even easier to review (and approve) your assets; and we have new Camera to Cloud integrations for video and photography teams."

(video) Darren Mostyn, "The Blackmagic CAMERA APP turn(s) your iPhone into a Blackmagic Design camera ... Then DaVinci Resolve 18.6 allows EASY sync of the files direct to the editor with no technical knowledge required - Super Easy via NEW Blackmagic Cloud set up."

This is a great roundup at NLE-based transcription features - not just in Premiere but in other NLEs and plugins.
Like the headline says.

Sunday Fun(nies)
Random thoughts, tidbits, and fun stuff catching my attention this week. Maybe it's color grading related. Maybe not. Ya gotta read to the end of the Newsletter to find out.
We are deep into Hurricane Season here in Florida. It has me thinking about topics like this. The items linked are good, and some of them are fun.
We are only 10 weeks from the holiday season. And if Macy's has Christmas trees on display (they do), then I'll share this fun list with you, "The 10 best gifts for bourbon lovers include glasses, bitters, coasters, books, decanters and even a whiskey scent, all under $100."
Check out these elephants that have learned to stop traffic and grab a quick snack. Fun and funny.
