It's a good Q&A article. Personally, I like how Juan thinks.
This is big news as lots of talent, including colorists, are wondering what this means for them? (via Robbie Carman)

The Tools
Our craft keeps changing. And growing. Learn about updates to your favorite software. Discover new tools to help you work faster or more creatively. Build your tool chest with new techniques and approaches.
(Livestream) "Please join us to learn about what’s new in DaVinci Resolve 17." Monday, 9 November at 1 pm Eastern. A close reading of that copy has me wondering if this is a 'look-no-download' kind of launch event?

It seems rather out of step for Blackmagic to take so long between major releases. But I guess the lack of pressure of a major trade show deadline has freed them from any pressure but their own.
"With Simon Says you can transcribe, translate and edit clips and captions with in sync frame-accurate video and text in DaVinci Resolve… but only if you’re using the macOS version."
(video)  This is a short, to-the-point tutorial on getting started with Printer Points in DaVinci Resolve 16. If you've never heard of the concept, it's a toolset that many top colorists love.
(video) "Need a hand creating a project for Instagram or converting an existing project to Instagram?" Within DaVinci Resolve. (via Rich Roddman)
(video) This is a fundamentals tutorial using DaVinci Resolve and focusing on the Custom and Hue Curves tools.
This article summarizes and links to three tutorials for using Pomfort's Livegrade and how to manage the color workflow from set and into post.
"Building on previous releases of semantic keying for sky, human body, head and face part extraction, the Salient Keyer uses object recognition and machine learning to identify and provide a matte for the most obvious or “salient” object in a bounding box, which can be animated."
Oliver Peters gets you up to speed on Avid Media Composer before diving into some of the new features of the latest software release.
FYI: "Avid Media Composer 2020.10 includes support for linking and playback of ProRes RAW media using the UME plug-in."
This is very interesting if you use Frame.io with lots of 'guests' and want to avoid buying a half-dozen new seats by mistake (been there, done that):

"With MASV Portals and Frame.io, a Portal owner can simply configure their Portal to deliver files to their Frame.io account and then invite contributors to upload. You don’t need everyone to have a Frame.io account, nor do you need everyone to have a MASV account. You simply invite users to a custom-branded URL and web page, where they can drag and drop their content." (via Joey D'Anna)
(video) "With Apple’s release of the new iPhone 12 and 12 Pro a few weeks ago, you can now shoot Dolby Vision HDR video . . . on a mobile device. But how do you edit and deliver it so that it can be properly viewed? That’s what we are talking about in this week’s episode of MacBreak Studio." The funny thing is all the if-then combinations of MacOS and browser for HDR viewing.

"It is the top-end model in Canon’s line of HDR reference displays, but if price is a concern, there are 24-inch and 17-inch options that offer many of the same features at a significantly lower price point." This article runs through the display's feature-set.
"Interestingly, the new AMD Ryzen 5000-series processors are not much faster than the previous generation. But, it is enough for AMD to extend their lead over Intel."
