Welcome to a new issue of Tarot Tips!
And a special welcome to our new subscribers.
Spring is almost upon us in this part of the world, and it
is the time we begin to think about Spring cleaning. How does this apply to tarot? There are challenges in disposing of precious tarot cards, and in this issue we will look at ways to part ways with old and damaged cards. We will also talk about the latest events happening in and around the tarot community, and tell you about an excellent and informative blog for your lineup of tarot references. Scene changes, moves and travels are also common during this time of year, which is one of the energies of the Knight of Wands, showcased in this issue. Speaking of travel, hopefully you’ve included Readers Studio 2015 as a destination. The roster for this year is amazing and kicks off with the 3rd Annual Tarot and Psychology Conference on Thursday. As of this writing, there are only 42 seats left! And one more thing...

TATTERED, TORN OR OTHERWISE DAMAGED CARDS AND DECKS Precisely how to physically handle cards has no definitive
rules. Tarot cards are considered by many to be small works of art and spiritual tools, to be treated with the utmost care and respect. For tarot enthusiasts they can be both a financial and an emotional investment. Many users of tarot feel the cards hold a magical essence and working with a torn, tattered or incomplete deck disrupts the flow of their connection to Spirit. But damage does happen to individual cards, and even entire decks. Repeated use of a favorite deck over time produces wear and tear. Whether you continue to use a card or a deck that has been damaged is a personal choice. Some people feel that a little wear and tear to their deck adds character. For others, a fresh or well-kept deck is part of the esthetics of a well-staged reading presentation. If you like, a second life can be given to your “worn” deck by passing it on to another user who doesn’t mind, especially if it has been gently used. Should the deck be a rare or out of print deck, it may be of value to a collector. There is certainly no end of the uses for torn or damaged cards. For example, they can be combined with the better cards of other decks to create one whole unique deck, or used as art or in art projects. After all, while the tarot lends itself to a magical existence, the magic in their use lies in the practitioner. Tarot School Aphorism Readers Studio Student Rates!

DISCOVERING WHEN TO CHANGE OR DISCONTINUE CERTAIN SERVICES By Gina Thies
Your services are your assets, your bread and butter, which
you use to create better living and valuable information for your clientele. An appealing service and your ability to convince your audience to buy it makes your business successful. The continuity of a growing business depends on it products and brand. If you are the product and the brand, then it may be useful to periodically add to to the selection of things that you provide to customers. Many practitioners offer actual products such as oils, decks, altar cloths and tarot bags to their lineup, while others go the way of coaching or publishing as ways to increase profits. In some cases, these additional things can be more of a hindrance than a help. Obviously, you can sometimes run into practical limits to the scope of your business. If you are offering a broad array of products or services that stretch your capacity to serve your clients well, then it may be in your best interest to streamline. If you offer a service that your existing clients rarely purchase or potential clients don’t understand then consider eliminating it altogether. Knowing when your business has gotten too complex may be difficult to see. Luckily, your clients are a great resource in terms of feedback. You can send out a survey or incorporate one on your website that allows visitors to tell you what they are looking for and why they came to your site. The key here is not to overwhelm or underestimate either your clients or yourself. Periodically assess the services and products you offer by observing how well your customers respond to them. This will let you know whether to decrease or increase what you do or offer. Featured Tarot Blog
