We're glad you're here! ![]() One of my favorite pastimes is figuring out the Birth Cards of famous people -- TV and movie stars, musicians, politicians, people with historical importance, etc. Thanks to the internet, their birthdates are readily available. (OK, some of them might not be totally accurate but I think most of them are.) Knowing a person's Birth Cards can give you a clue about how they see and experience the world. If I know an actor's Birth Cards for example, it gives me a sense of how they might approach their craft, which is something that interests me. Of course, I'm never going to really know these people, but it's fun for me to think about. I also enjoy seeing which people share Birth Cards with each other, and who has the same Birth Cards as I do. Since this is the July issue, I compiled a list of a few people you'll probably recognize who were all born in July, and organized them by Birth Card set: WHEEL - MAGICIAN July 7, 1940 – Ringo Starr, drummer for The Beatles July 10, 1856 – Nikola Tesla, inventor, engineer, and futurist JUSTICE - PRIESTESS July 13, 1944 – Erno Rubik, invented the “Rubik’s Cube” July 18, 1921 – John Glenn, astronaut, politician HANGED MAN - EMPRESS July 4, 1918 – Abigail Van Buren, "Dear Abby" advice columnist July 6, 1907 – Frida Kahlo, artist DEATH - EMPEROR July 6, 1935 – Tenzin Gyatso, Dalai Lama, Tibetan Buddhist spiritual leader July 7, 1907 – Robert Heinlein, science fiction writer TEMPERANCE - HIEROPHANT July 26, 1943 – Mick Jagger, lead singer of the “Rolling Stones” July 31, 1965 – J.K. Rowling, author of the Harry Potter series of books DEVIL - LOVERS July 6, 1946 – Sylvester Stallone, actor July 8, 1926 – Elisabeth Kubler-Ross, psychiatrist, author of "On Death and Dying" TOWER - CHARIOT July 1, 1961 – Princess Diana, Princess of Wales, married Prince Charles July 13, 1940 – Patrick Stewart, English actor, Star Trek’s Captain Picard STAR - STRENGTH July 15, 1606 – Rembrandt Van Rijn, painter July 18, 1918 – Nelson Mandela, South African anti-apartheid activist, President MOON - HERMIT July 12, 1817 – Henry David Thoreau, author, philosopher July 13, 1942 – Harrison Ford, actor, Star Wars, Raiders of the Lost Ark SUN - WHEEL - MAGICIAN July 21, 1899 – Ernest Hemingway, novelist July 30, 1863 – Henry Ford, automaker, industrialist JUDGEMENT - PRIESTESS July 24, 1897 – Amelia Earhart, pioneer aviator July 29, 1883 – Benito Mussolini, Italian Fascist leader during WWII WORLD - EMPRESS July 23, 1989 – Daniel Radcliffe, actor, Harry Potter July 25, 1978 – Louise Brown, first test-tube baby Does it change your perception of these people to know their Birth Cards? Wald and I have included a much larger list of Celebrity Birth Cards as a bonus lesson with our Birth Card Course. It could be fun to create your own list as well. RECIPE FOR GOOD READINGS
There's a Zen saying that goes: "Every time and every place is uniquely different. There is no need to compare it with any other time and place. Just carefully taste the present –– that is enough!" Do you "carefully taste the present" each time you do a reading? When a particular card comes up, do you have a stock interpretation for it which you use over and over again? Or are you able to serve up a personalized reading, creating your recipe from a wide range of interpretational ingredients? "Every time and every place is uniquely different." Every querent and every question is uniquely different. Therefore, every answer you give should strive to meet the uniqueness of the moment. In order to do this, you need to develop two things: 1) Your collection of card interpretations 2) Your intuition Just as the finest chefs will search far and wide for their secret ingredients, you can stock your pantry of card meanings from various sources: • The LWB (little white book that comes with your deck) • General Tarot books • Deck-specific books • Personal interpretations from meditation, contemplation and/or experience • Spur-of-the-moment insights from a detail in the card • Tarot Teachers • Students in your Tarot class • Other readers • Your querents (ask what the card means to them!) • Tables of correspondences (available in books and online) • Tarot blogs and websites • Posts in online discussion groups • Internet search engines • Ask ChatGPT and other A.I. applications • Automated online readings* * See our Directory of Free Reading Sites at: https://TarotSchool.com/FreeReadings.html When picking and choosing which of the many meanings you'd like to keep, use discrimination. Does a particular meaning ring true for you? If it doesn't, just because someone said it or wrote it, doesn't mean you have to use it. If it interests you but you're not sure, write it down and think about it. When you sit down to cook up a reading, how do you know which meaning to use of all the ones you've collected? That's where your intuition comes in. Intuition and Practice. The more you practice, the easier it will be to recognize which interpretation is the right one. (A lot of the time it's obvious.) And the more you practice, the more you'll trust your intuition. Don't forget to carefully taste the present –– • Which meaning will most quickly answer the question? This is what you want to do, after all. • Which interpretation makes the most sense under the present circumstances? Context is everything. • What is unique about this reading/querent and which interpretation speaks to that uniqueness? Take risks -- you'll be surprised how often you'll be right on target. And don't forget to savor the results! Wald's Words of Wisdom ![]() Diviner's Corner TALISMANS
Best Practices for Professional Readers![]() Talismantic practice involve using objects for a variety of purposes including protection, health and obtaining wishes or desires. Talismans can be used by anyone and made from a variety of materials. The use of talismans and amulets is as old as human history. People have carried meaning tools and objects for personal meaning but also used by groups, family and in most cases end up as symbols for entire nations. Talismans have been used by every known civilization in some form and given significance in conjunction with astrology, science and ritual use. Talisman is derived from the Byzantine Greek word telesma meaning "religious rite" or, more literally, "something done to completion". Talismans have been made from all known materials found on the planet. These objects are assigned religious or magical intent. The talisman is most often small, portable and often worn popularly as jewelry, such pendants. Talismans have also been made into clothing that was worn for protection under armor. Talismans also appear on buildings. Talismanic magic corresponds to astrology and the proper way to create and infuse a talisman for the desired outcome has to occur under the auspices of planetary influence. If talismans are not ritually consecrated at the right time, they will not be effective. The use of an astrologically consecrated talisman harnesses the power of the sign and planet’s influence. Traditional sources of when to cast, create and consecrate a talisman are found in The Picatrix and other Hermetic and occult texts such as Agrippa's Three Books of Occult Philosophy. CLICK HERE FOR THE PUZZLE OPTIMIZING YOUR HOME OFFICE FOR SUCCESS By Gina Thies www.tarotadvisor.com / www.facebook.com/tarotreaders www.tarotcoupling.com / www.oraclesoup.org I am sitting among a sea of boxes from my recent move. Moving is one of the top five life stressors but it brings an opportunity for a fresh start and new lease on life. One of the first things I do in a new place is to set up my workspace. That's my challenge at the moment, but even if you are not changing your location, if you are feeling a drop in your energy or if your business is in a slump, consider rearranging your workspace or home office. For starters, organized chaos is just chaos. I am so guilty of saying all the time that my cluttered desk is organized chaos. In actuality, it is just a reminder of all the things I need to complete, in some cases, when I get “a round tuit”. (“Round Tuits” are about the size of a circular coaster by the way, and are readily available online.) In other words, getting around to it is not measured in any real timeframe and the task typically never gets done, but I digress. In optimizing your home office, consider a feng shui approach. Now, I am by no means an expert in feng shui, however the principle that your space represents your world and ultimately your success is something I am on board with. Start with the actual space itself. Choose an area that feels right, where you can visualize your day-to-day. Next is the desk where you work. If possible, I recommend the place where you do your readings and run your business be different. A dedicated desk or space where you are doing business tasks will give you a sense of business stability. If you are just starting out and choose to work at home, ask yourself if the kitchen table is really suitable to represent your success. If you don't have a separate room for your home office, invest in a room divider. It helps to position your desk where you can see the door. The door represents open opportunities, so you want to be able to “see” all of your options. Make sure your desk is not surrounded by obstacles. There should be a good flow of energy in your work space. Strong stable furniture is also a necessity. A wobbly chair and desk speak for themselves, often literally. Crystal lovers know the importance of bringing in the right crystals for success. In feng shui, the wealth corner is for success and prosperity. Place an amethyst or citrine in the wealth corner of the room, which is the farthest left corner when you are looking into your space from the door.
