Hi Cooking Moms, Dads & Friends,
I hope you had a great week! The leaves are starting to change here in Wisconsin. I just love this time of year. But, winter not so much! Right now is the time to plan your winter getaway. Don’t wait! Let’s escape the cold and snow and spend 7 nights in January in one of my favorite cities, beautiful Puerto Vallarta, Mexico! Our resort is AMAZING. It’s right on the beach and just a short stroll to town. Plus, all of your top shelf drinks and gourmet meals are included. It’s a small boutique hotel with just 70 beautiful rooms. The staff will pamper us and know our names and which drinks we like. First class all the way! LAST CALL to book this trip. The deadline is Monday, October 10. Call Bon Voyage Boutique Travel TODAY at 920-725-2880 or email [email protected] to learn more and book your spot. Bring on the margaritas! Click The Cooking Mom’s Culinary Trip to Puerto Vallarta to get all the delicious details!
It’s football season and this Sunday my Green Bay Packers will take on the New York Giants in England. For us that means getting up early because the game airs live here at 8:30am CST. I’m all about putting on a delicious fun game day spread. I think it’s going to be a breakfast spread Sunday!
My Absolute Favorite Brunch Bake is ALWAYS a winner! It’s full of flavor and there's a secret ingredient that makes it extra special. I can put most of this brunch casserole together Saturday night. Then, Sunday morning, just a couple more easy steps and into the oven it goes. It’s so good. If you haven’t made it, you just gotta try it. I’m pretty sure it will become your family’s favorite too!
This morning at 7:45am I’ll be LIVE on Fox 6 Wakeup in Milwaukee making another recipe perfect for the early morning game. My Big Batch of Breakfast Burritos is so yummy! It’s perfect when you need breakfast for a crowd. Use green and gold peppers, cook crumbled sausage or brats and add loads of cheese to make Wisconsin style burritos. You can wrap them in foil and keep them warm and cozy in your roaster or slow cooker. Then put out salsa, sour cream, hot sauce and more of your favorite Mexican toppings and everyone can help themselves. Love that! This is a great recipe for back to school too. These burritos freeze really well and you can re-heat in the oven. Perfect for busy mornings!
Gotta have a sweet treat for weekend brunch. We love to start out with my Streusel Bundt Coffee Cake. This is AMAZING! So easy too because it starts with a box of yellow cake mix. When kids come home to visit they beg me to make this. It’s that good!
You gotta have a great big fruit salad for brunch too! My Fruit Salad with Honey Poppy Seed Dressing is so pretty. For the game, you can use green and gold fruit like pineapple, kiwi, honeydew melon, green grapes, green apples, and pears. Now you’ve got the ULTIMATE weekend breakfast or brunch. Brew some coffee and I’m ready for the game! Maybe I can get Hoyt to make Bloody Mary’s or mimosas. This is gonna be fun! Click Breakfast & Brunch for more delicious recipes.
Besides the game. this weekend I’m excited to hit the farmers market. I can’t wait to pick up all our fall favorites. I’m hoping to find a big beautiful local head of cauliflower. I’ve been craving my Roasted Cauliflower. I roast it with a little garlic, olive oil and lemon juice. Then, I sprinkle it with Parmesan cheese right when it comes out of the oven. Oh man, is it good. Good for you, too!
I love to serve it with my great grandmother Nana’s Meatloaf. Maybe my Wonderful Wedge Salad with Best Ever Bleu Cheese Dressing, too. Now, that’s one heck of a delicious fall dinner! Click Dinner, Sides, Sandwiches and Slow Cooker for more satisfying recipes.
This weekend is a good one to make a big batch of soup. My Hungarian Sausage Soup is something a little different and wonderful. It’s really hearty and delicious, filled with potatoes and sausages. It will warm you right up on a cold fall day. Super easy too! I serve it with crusty rye bread or my 4-ingredient home made Beer Bread for dipping and dunking. YUMMY! Click Soups for more super good soup, stew and chili recipes.
