  The Anne Report

The Anne Report

Dear ,

We had our granddog, Libby, over for her first visit this weekend. She was with us from Friday to Sunday. Our dog, Lucy, barely tolerates her. Libby is a bouncy puppy, brimming with endless zeal, and Lucy is an old codger. Lucy growls and bares her teeth and Libby lies on the floor, feet up in submission. Libby forgets how cantankerous Lucy is and bounces into her face and jumps all over her. We had an endless circus act for three days.

What a wonderful Halloween for Grandpoppy and GrandMaMa. We went to a neighborhood party, in Mt. Pleasant. At the last minute, Thomas’ blowup dinosaur costume did not blow up, so he had to wear his bat costume. He was a bit disappointed, being a dinosaur aficionado, but he seemed okay with a treasure bucket full of candy and the promise of a makeup purchase or activity of his choice, in lieu of the Halloween dinosaur adventure.

I hope my friend makes it in tonight or in the morning. She is scheduled on American Airlines and, with all 1,500 flight cancellations, she may not make it. Fingers crossed.* Though the planet is glad to have a few less fumes to add to the CO2 overload, there are probably some upset people who were inconvenienced. Someone probably missed a connection to Europe for their dream vacation. Someone missed that time sensitive job interview. Another missed that window to see a family member because they only had one day off. Modern life is full of inconveniences, yet when not resisted or made wrong, maybe it is those inconveniences that polish our insides, that turn our inner coal into diamonds. When we move inconveniences from the problem column, life’s discord becomes life’s harmony. Remember EZosophy’s Law, “If anything can go right, it will.” There may be some delays in seeing our goodness in the present, but if we are diligent in our looking, our lotus flower will emerge from the swamp. And that’s it for the Anne Report.

* Just heard that my friend made her flights and connections. Happy days.

Creating More EZ (Ease) in Life

Life is malleable. It’s like Play-Doh. Some people make monsters with their Play-Doh while others create angels. I’d like to think I am a consistent angel maker, but, honestly, I’m all over the place. Who knows? Perhaps it’s desirable not to get caught in one mode of expression.

In eastern philosophy Krishna represents a unique aspect of divinity. He is the essence of love and joy, but Krishna is also depicted as being a child – and that child is impish. It’s refreshing to think of an aspect of divinity as impish. Our idea of spirituality is often based on perfectionism, and even though we, in our true natures, are perfect, our personalities and behaviors were never meant to be perfect. Our need to be perfect and good all the time cripples us as much as our need to rebel and sabotage our lives. We don’t have to be good all the time to earn our right to exist.

Being authentic, having fun, and not being so serious about the spiritual path, are the ingredients of a life well-lived. I tire quickly of sappy spiritual people. Actually, I’m a little afraid of them, because hidden under that positive veneer is a cauldron of seething rage, and I don’t want to be around when it blows. People often think that positive thinking is the only way to live, and while it is an integral part of living the good life, the philosophy was never meant for every life situation.

EZosophy is a philosophy created to combat some of the terminal seriousness of life. Even though life is hard, it is not hard all the time. We each have the capacity to lighten up, even during the toughest times.

Do you ever think about cleaning out your clothes closet? Do you sigh internally just at the thought? Discarding old clothing is not hard. It is a privilege to have more clothes than we can wear, to be able to buy a newer style, or to have frayed ones that we’ve loved and worn until they no longer serve us. The same goes for cleaning out the refrigerator. It’s an honor to have so much food, that some of it goes bad. Is there a way to look at cleaning as a pleasure? The fact that we even have the leisure time to clean our closets or refrigerator is a sort of grace. Some people work three jobs and others spend their entire day seeking food and water. I’m not comparing to make us feel guilty for what we have, but comparisons can shift us into a recognition of all we do have.

The idea that life is always hard gives us amnesia and causes us to live as if it were true. Figuring out what is hard and what is ego driven is an every moment task. We need not avoid genuine suffering, such as a great loss, but when suffering is ego driven, we must remember that ease lurks at every corner. If we never look at ez (ease), or look for it, if we don’t embody EZ (ease), we remain slaves to our cultural heritage, and that heritage dominates society. What a tragedy when we overlook the deep essence of living and substitute it with the worn-out, ego driven values of martyrdom and sacrifice. While all the world goes crazy, it’s time for us to go sane. Let’s create a mental sane asylum and rest in that.

Build it and they will come. It’s time to build safe, sane, and EZ (easy) realities, because when we do, the relentless grace of being folds us into the radical presence of love. Life is meant to be a treasure, but it’s up to us to be the treasurer. It’s time for a treasure hunt. Let’s treasure the quirky, hilly terrain of life, because when we do, we find that life is EZier and EZier.

This group is a place to post uplifting affirmations and thoughts about prosperity and abundant living. Let’s create a right relationship with money so that we feel comfortable about money. Let’s use money as it’s meant to be used, and not as a way to accumulate power or to fill a void. We don’t need money to buy more stuff. We need it to create a world that works for everyone. We want to cast off old beliefs of lack and reclaim our natural state of abundance. Anne, AKA Dr. Money, posts a nightly goodnight video for the prosperity team, and everyone who watches those videos becomes a part of the prosperity team.
