  The Anne Report

The Anne Report

Dear ,

One year ago this week marks one crazy, hope-filled, bizarre time in my life. May 4th commemorates the one-year anniversary of the sale of our Texas home. May 5th is the day we headed for South Carolina. May 6th is the date I was in a head on crash, and May 7th was the date I went to the emergency room in pain and was diagnosed with kidney cancer. That same day my daughter came to pick me up in Dublin, Georgia and we moved into our RV for five months. Jim traveled the same day in our truck with a filled-to-the-brim U-Haul and put our belongings in storage. Major commotion in our lives often forms an energetic standard and we form what I call anniversary commotion. Though it is positive commotion, it still has been a big week for us. There has been plenty of anniversary commotion.

It has been a big week for us. There is a new grand dog, Libby. The twins have been begging for a dog for years. Finally, the day came. It was a surprise. Libby arrived while the boys were asleep. They were thrilled when they awakened Sunday morning to an 8-week-old, three-pound, bundle of delight. We received a video call early in the morning. “We got a puppy.” shouts Thomas. “Do you like her?” “She is precious. She is adorable.” Later in the morning we made our way over to see Libby in person. I must admit, that is one cute dog! She’s a Bernedoodle. It’s pronounced Berna-doo-dle. Lucy, our dog, is not too thrilled. She is old and Libby is a bouncy, energetic puppy. Fingers crossed. Please let them get along.

This past week our backyard was fenced in, our back porch was screened in, and our yard was landscaped. We have established a well-worn path between our house and Home Depot. May 4th this year would have been my dad’s 106th birthday. Though this did not happen within a one week time frame, we did sell our truck last week. I speak to the New York City Lodge of the Theosophical Society tomorrow night on relationships. I love to talk about relationships. They are so entertaining. My stepdaughter, Ashley, comes for a visit on Friday. She comes from California, and this will be the first time she has seen our new home. My husband is so excited. The following week, my friend comes from Texas. Maybe you do not believe in anniversary patterns, but you will not be able to convince me otherwise. And remember, no matter what life throws at us, we can always make it a bit EZier. That’s it for the Anne report.

Love Makes the World Go Around

The song, Love Makes the World Go Around, is catchy and uplifting, but I wonder, does love make the world go round or does the world, as we create it, operate from an undifferentiated, fearful space? Our news, our cultural divides, our sense of me or me-ness (I want mine, I need mine, everything revolves around me, I’m a separate being, all my needs are special needs and they dictate my thinking), dominate our worldview. Even if I stand on my tippy-toes, I don’t see love’s nature winning, at least not on the outer realms. Love’s nature is freedom, but are we free?

We are not free to love until we experience unity, not separation. We can’t hold a sense of unconditional personal regard for a few choice people and think we can experience the love of existence. Love is always present, but our mental and emotional constructs obscure it. It’s time to raise our emotional IQ. The psychoanalyst Erich Fromm said that we expend too much energy on “falling in love” and need to learn more how to “stand in love.

How can we “stand in love”? To love those who agree with us and love us, is a start, but it’s easy to love those people. To love those who bug us, is freedom. To truly surrender our hearts, especially when we are in the presence of people who drain us, those who prattle on, or people who appear vindictive or angry-righteous, these are love’s greatest moments. If our hearts remain open and generous when people lecture us, teach us, and try to direct our lives, great peace ensues. To be nonreactive when others criticize us is the great challenge. These are the people, the ones who challenge us the most, who give us the ability for the final release.

If we lived in a culture where we had a personal spiritual teacher, we might recognize that when certain people appear on the horizon, it is the master in disguise. There are no chance encounters, and each person we meet is an assignment in the school of life. Being kind to all is a chance we must take, even in the face of harshness, pettiness, and cruelty.

Our reactions to people must be based on our values, not on others’ behaviors. We are like sailboats which are blown about by the winds of others until we allow the winds of our hearts to direct us. Everyone wants to feel loved. When we love others, love bestows a great blessing: we experience that love ourselves. We receive what we give.

Love is two sided: there is the love we give and the love we receive. But, unlike a coin, love is a circle and its movement has unlimited momentum. Drink deeply into each moment, because love is here: it is behind each word, under each rock, and out in the open, proudly displaying its kindness and compassion. Love will not compete with pride, control, or power, yet it is unconditional and shines on the just and the unjust. May each moment in our lives and each breath we take, be an invocation for this ever-present love. It is a perennial gift awaiting us, the receivers, and it is always with us.

It is our time rise and stand in love. It is our time to move from the “me” to the “we” It is our time to really make love be the organizing principle that makes the world go around, because when we do, everything will be EZier and EZier.

Join Anne’s Facebook Group

This group is a place to post uplifting affirmations and thoughts about prosperity and abundant living. Let’s create a right relationship with money so that we feel comfortable about money. Let’s use money as it’s meant to be used, and not as a way to accumulate power or to fill a void. We don’t need money to buy more stuff. We need it to create a world that works for everyone. We want to cast off old beliefs of lack and reclaim our natural state of abundance. Anne, AKA Dr. Money, posts a nightly goodnight video for the prosperity team, and everyone who watches those videos becomes a part of the prosperity team.
