The Anne Report brings you up to date on Anne’s latest activities. The Main Article, Words, reminds us of the value in the words we use and how they can bless or curse others, or anywhere in between. Indeed, our words do make a difference in the lives of all, so it’s important how we use them. In today’s Anne Talk, Making Others’ Lives EZier, Anne shares an example of how she and some of her friends made a difference in someone else’s day, and you can too. Then we can start to allow our understanding of our true self, not our egoic self, to gently lead us forward, in the knowing that all is well, without our having to control everything.   The Anne Report

The Anne Report

Dear ,

We went on a boat ride on Saturday and a trip to the beach on Sunday. For this water lover, that was heaven. Saturday was my sons-in-law’s birthday, and we had a small family party. I asked my daughter if I could make the cake and she said, “Yes, but we don’t want any vegan, whole wheat flour agave cake. It must be the real thing.” I made my mom’s yellow cake recipe with chocolate icing. That’s Toby’s favorite, yellow with chocolate icing. I love to bake, but rarely do, given the “then I have to eat it and I will eat it” factor. The dastardly decadent cake was transported to Mt. Pleasant in my 1968 copper colored metal cake holder. I could not wait until the end of dinner. Finally, candles blown out and cake cut, I ate more than anyone else. I still smile when I think about it. Before the cake was cut, Thomas kept getting small dollops of the icing. He looked at me and said, “I’m in love with this cake.” I think we both were.

Ashley, my stepdaughter, leaves tomorrow. I don’t think we’ve been able to talk her into moving from California to South Carolina. My friend, Mary, arrives next week from Texas. It is wonderful having company after so many months of semi-isolation.

My grandsons turn 7 on Saturday. They are so cute that I cannot imagine living far away. Reynolds asked me on Saturday if we were staying for dinner. When I replied yes, he jumped up and down. When I hug them, I just want to melt into them.

I am in a new group that is studying the Green Tara. She is a female Buddha. I must admit, it’s fun dealing with female archetypes of the divine. And that’s it for the Anne Report.

  Main Article

Words

What word is enough? What word gives but does not take? What word holds life in her hand and blows goodness into the wind? Is that word love? Is it peace? Is it compassion? So many words bring blessings. They sprout wings and soar above our ego as they fetch our hearts. I know what they say: the word love is not love itself, but you cannot fool me. The word love is an incantation; it is an invocation.

When I read an article rich with content, I am amazed and blessed. I often take notes. I sheepishly admit, some articles put me in my place, or rather, below my place. I read the words of others, sprinkled with Sanskrit, Arabic, or Pali words, and I devise a plan to learn at least one of them. Of course, I never do. I read an article one day and forget most of its content the next, but that does not dampen my enthusiasm for the Word.

I am wowed by words and content. Yet, when I read my articles, I am often filled with the same sense of awe. There are full words full of wisdom. I look and feel pride and wonder, yet there is no sense of ownership. I do not know where most of the words come from. I feel a kinship with certain articles, but many of them sprang from the unknown and barely touched my mind before they appeared in my computer. I am a bit embarrassed to say that when I read some of my articles, I am as wowed by them as I am the wisdom of the old. There is a deep wisdom that flows through everything – a knowing. There is freshly alive content begging to be born, and I, being one writer, stand willing and ready to be the midwife to the beloved, the word, the truth that shouts from the roof tops of every soul. I love the boundlessness of wisdom and its eagerness to share with everyone. I love words and concepts and beliefs. Yes, they are inadequate. Yes, they are the only signpost to reality, but when placed together lovingly, advisedly, who can deny their power to inform and transform even the darkest corner of humanity?

The following is excerpted from my book, Words Make a Difference. The story illustrates the power of words.

Once a young woman had a protective brother. He would not allow her to pursue her spiritual inclinations, so each night she climbed through her window and quietly made her way to her guru’s home. She was captivated by the truth he spoke. She excelled in meditation and spiritual disciplines and was told that on her next visit, she would receive enlightenment.

A nosey neighbor ran into her brother at the market. “You think your sister is so chaste. She leaves your house at night, when you sleep, and goes to meet her lover.”

The brother didn’t believe his neighbor, so the next night he followed his sister. She approached a strange house and entered. His heart was heavy; he felt betrayed. He peered in the window and saw his sister approach the master. At that very moment, the master uttered the words that would bring ultimate peace and enlightenment to his sister. The guru heard a rattle at the window and turned and saw the brother. The brother heard the words and fell to the ground in supreme bliss. He made his way inside to the master and, through tears of ecstasy, thanked him. He fell to his sister’s feet in gratitude. Just one or two words, spoken with power and authority, awakened the highest in the brother. He had done no practices and no preparation, but the words pierced his heart.

You get the picture. Words carry power. Though so many experiences cannot be described in words, words give us a universal format for communication. Unfortunately, words can be swords. They cut others apart. Too many casualties lay at the feet of our words because, without thought, we carelessly fling them. Some people list kindness as their religion, as it should be, just as kindness should be our arbiter when we speak. Words have wings, and they continue to fly, once we say them. Some words never die. They live in others as branches of despair or live as a beacon in the dark night of the soul. Cut not out thy tongue, but chasten thy mind, for all the good words flow from the wellspring of Being. It is our privilege to birth them. Words need us to mend hearts and hold out an invitation to belonging. Words bind us into families, they divide us, they slay us, so what we say and how we say it may be the most important task of our lives. When we cast our words upon the souls of our loved ones, and speak them with kindness and love, we can be sure, that our lives immediately become EZier and EZier.

This group is a place to post uplifting affirmations and thoughts about prosperity and abundant living. Let’s create a right relationship with money so that we feel comfortable about money. Let’s use money as it’s meant to be used, and not as a way to accumulate power or to fill a void. We don’t need money to buy more stuff. We need it to create a world that works for everyone. We want to cast off old beliefs of lack and reclaim our natural state of abundance. Anne, AKA Dr. Money, posts a nightly goodnight video for the prosperity team, and everyone who watches those videos becomes a part of the prosperity team.
