as an empath you know what time of year it is. It is the time that we all dig down deep and wonder how we are going to get through the holidays without absorbing other peoples energy. I use to ask myself that very same question . . .year after year.
Until one year I found myself parked in grocery store parking lot sobbing uncontrollably with my child
strapped in her car seat. I was a full time stay at home mom with no income. I had a exactly $100 in my pocket and was expected to produce the perfect family holiday meal. The saddest part, it was money that I had received from a relative because my then spouse wouldn't give me a dime.
That was the day I found what little strength I had left and uttered under my breath ~never again.
You see too many of us give our power away,
lower our expectations, and absorb other peoples emotions until that one day we summon the strength and say: no more.
