This month's issue has office supplies that give back, encouragement to tackle clutter, more on rainbow foods and some exercises for the tummy. There's links with reassurance for all moms, help with art and with preschoolers and lastly a way to get free stuff from Target and other stores.
I also have a calorie free Valentines gift for you. Virtual Field Trips- Making Candy
Homemaking
Do you need supplies for your home office? I put together this page one Pink Ribbon Office Supplies. These products make a donation for the fight against breast cancer, from each product sold.
Organizing and clutter are two different things. Many people think they need to get organized and what they really need is to declutter. Somewhere in my readings I came across the statement "You can't organize clutter." If you know me or have been reading this newsletter for a while, you'll know that clutter is a problem for me. I ran across the article in Show Clutter the Door (use this link for the full article, it's the 2nd one down). It has 10 useful tips and I wanted to comment on a few and encourage myself, see my declutter goal here, as well as you in task of decluttering.
The first tips is to have a charity pick-up. I have a friend who has been using this method to declutter. She schedules a Salvation Army Pick-up, then works on getting a few bags full for them to pick-up. A few weeks later she'll schedule another, and process goes on. When life gets busy she doesn't schedule and and when it slows down again she schedules that appt.
If you are experiencing economic challenges consider a garage sale. Yes its a bit of work, but we have consistently made around $200. Next month I'll go into this topic more. Couple this with the first tip by scheduling a pick-up a day or two after the sale and wa-la, clutters gone.
If you have good quality work clothes, you might want to consider donating it to a charity that helps people reentering the workforce. One of these in my area is Working Wardrobe.
These are just a few of the tips. So lets get going, be it 5 items or 15 minutes a day. Let's throw out the trash and either sell or donate the good stuff so it will be used instead of bogging us down.
Post your goals and progress on the new ByGProductions facebook page and we can encourage one another.
Health & Nutrition
I
had hoped to have made a web page about a specific food, but alas that
hasn't happened. I did find this page that talks about Eating a Rainbow.
At the bottom of the page it asks what are your favorite rainbow foods.
Post your favorite rainbow foods on the new ByGProductions facebook
page, lets see if we get a variety or we all like the same things.
Tummy Exercise
These
look interesting and doable. Unlike the author I don't plan on showing
my midriff but I do want to strengthen my stomach. Since working on my
core, I'm having less problems with my back. If I remember to give these
a try this week, I'll post my results on the facebook page.
Homeschooling
Homeschooling Preschoolers Curriculum -- Even
if you don't have preschoolers, I hope you check this out and send it
to your friends who do. Many people considering homeschooling want a
curriculum for their preschoolers. In reality they don't need one. This
page address the things all parents need to be doing with their
preschoolers.
These were posted on the Homeschool Preschool thru Highschool facebook page that are worth repeating:
