Thank you to everyone who has been praying for my
dad
Chuck. He is continuing to heal and seems to be getting stronger. Prayers for his continued healing and return of his strength and stamina are appreciated.
In the Health & Nutrition section I'll introduce you to my latest food bar find that I really like and an exercise that I do while brushing my teeth or watching TV. Homeschooling shares a lens I wrote on The Decline of Use Curriculum Sales that I hope you'll share with others.
It's hard to believe the year is almost half over. I hope it finds you well and progressing with your goals.

LÃRABAR
This is my latest find. I like LÃRABARS because it is a meal replacement bar that does not use soy. Being a thyroid patient I avoid soy. Some think it may be bad for people with thyroid conditions, so I play it on the safe side and try and avoid it as a main ingredient. Back to the bars. They are made with a date & nut base with other flavors added depending on the bar. Some of the flavors include Cherry Pie (this one is a little to tart for my sweet tooth), Apple Pie (my husband said this one was good) , Cashew Cookie, Banana Cookie, and Chocolate Coconut Chew. My favorite flavor so far is Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough. The full size bars run a little over 200 calories. They also have snack size bars that are just a few bites running 80 calories. The best price I've found so far is in boxes of five at Target and Fresh & Easy. If you don't have one of these stores, you can get them on Amazon.Exercise - Calf Raises
Having trouble finding time to exercise? Small amounts here and there can make a difference. This is one that you can do while talking on the phone, brushing your teeth and if really talented while washing dishes. Simply raise up on the balls of you feet and hold. Curriculum
Its
that time of year again, trying to finish up the current school year,
while at the same time going to conventions and used curriculum sales.
My approach to used curriculum sales was a garage sale approach. I would
go with an open mind a budget and look and see what I could find. Since
I started doing this early, before I actually started schooling, I was
often buying things for a year or two ahead. Sadly with the increase of
selling on the Internet, used curriculum sales have been on the decline
over the last few years. In our increasing digital society I think we
need to fight to keep the real and tangible alive. I wrote The Sad
Decline of the Used Curriculum Sale on the subject, and would greatly
appreciated it if you would share it with your homeschool friends.
Also check out the new Used Curriculum Forum at ByGProductions.com. This replaces the flyer I use to publish just for the Orange County, CA area and also opens up the service to other areas.
