My dear , Srila Prabhupada wonderfully explained in a lecture he gave in Los Angeles on 4 December 1968 that this Kṛṣṇa consciousness movement is for training people how to practice brahminical culture. He emphasized that there must be a portion of the population well versed in brahminical culture, Krishna consciousness. Then he quoted a Sanskrit verse: Ekaś candras tamo hanti na ca tara sahasrasaḥ. This means that
if there is one moon in the sky, that is sufficient to dissipate all darkness. There is no need of thousands or millions of stars. Srila Prabhupada then stated, "Similarly, we do not expect that the whole population of the human society will be taking to this brahminical culture; but even one percent of the whole population accepts this brahminical culture, Kṛṣṇa consciousness, then the whole world will be peaceful. Not
even one percent, less than one percent. It is so nice."
So if we can be fully Krishna conscious ourselves and make even one percent or even less than one percent of the world population Krishna conscious, there will be on this planet a wonderful golden era of spirituality and peace. So let's endeavor like anything now to make at least one percent of the world population Krishna conscious.
