It is interesting to calculate how long ago Lord Brahma received this Vedic knowledge. Since Prabhupada has written that Brahma lives for one
hundred of his years and that he is now 50 old we can calculate how long ago was the beginning of creation when Brahma was blessed with this knowledge.
Brahma's day is 1,000 yuga cycles. Satya Yuga lasts for 1,728,000 years. Treta Yuga lasts for 1,296,000 years. Dvapara Yuga lasts for 864,000 years. And Kali Yuga lasts for 432,000 years.
The total of these four yugas is 4,320,000 years. A thousand yuga cycles is thus 4,320,000,000 years. And Brahma's night is of equal duration. Thus his 24 hours is 8,640,000,000 of our years. And Brahma's year is 360 days. So his one year is 3,110,400,000,000 of our years. And his 50 years is thus 155,520,000,000,000 of our years. This means that 155 trillion, 520 billion years ago this knowledge was revealed by Lord Krishna to Lord Brahma. That it
is just as relevant today as it was 155 trillion, 520 million years ago proves that is has passed the test of time.
