Hi
We’re really pleased to announce our latest video upload is ready.
You can watch it now on youtube:

Following on from the previous video about making requests, in this latest one we teach
polite and professional ways to reply to those pesky requesters, whether accepting or declining them.
The idea came from our 4 year old son who translates phrases he learns at school directly from Spanish into English, resulting in rather blunt requests like “give
it to me” or “I want water”.
It got us thinking about how a perfectly acceptable request in one language might come across as inappropriate in another and the words we use to modify the level
of politeness in the English language.
“if you could just get me some water, that would be fantastic!”
We’re relieved that our son doesn’t know how to use that one yet. Unleashing such persuasive power on a four year old could have devastating consequences for his
teeth!
Thanks for being a loyal email subscriber. We appreciate hearing from you. And let us know if you ever have any questions.
Love from Jay, Yana and Tom.
