The night before Israel was going to transition from one place to another,
both spiritually and physically, the Lord wanted to have a
meal with them.
This time of gathering was intimate and
foreshadowed something greater in the future.
Again, on the night before Jesus and His disciples were about to
transition,
Jesus gathered with His disciples in a place of intimacy.
Jesus was speaking about the future, revealing Himself in a greater way,
and bringing them to a new place of dependence on Him.
Peter resisted the prophetic forewarnings and his needed washing of Jesus' words and hands. He would not be prepared for the days ahead.
John, on the other hand, sought deeper revelation and clarity to the things
he could not understand that night. He leaned over onto Jesus' chest.
While he did not understand what was about to happen,
he knew that he must lean on Jesus.

and relocate your trust where it belongs.
