St Thomas Big Band.
18 Piece Jazz Big Band.
 Playing a romantic ballad, spicy hot latin number, or toe tapping swing tune, the St Thomas Big Band will promote a night of frivolity, excitement and great music for the listener and dancer a like.
The jazz big band would have to be known as one of the most versatile and aesthetically impressive entertainment ensembles. Since its first appearance in the dance halls of the late 1920s the big band has captured the hearts of countless generations through the music of greats including Duke Ellington and Count Basie as well as crooners including Frank Sinatra and Sammy Davis Junior and more recently Michael Buble. Its use in countless Hollywood movies with dancers throwing their partners around in various spins and turns whether in an elite club or common dance hall has helped give the big band a unique place in entertainment circles being able to be inclusive of a wide range of people.
Rebecca Dugmore & Curtis Harmer Canapes Music 21st January 2012, Sandalford Winery.
The Simon Montgomery Trio performed as the pre-reception live entertainment for the wedding of Curtis Harmer and Rebecca Dugmore on the 21st of January 2012 at Sandalford Winery in the Oak Courtyard.
 The Wedding Music Planner had been booked to provide music for both the wedding ceremony and pre-reception for Rebecca and Curtis and managed to deliver an affordable package including the hiring of PA equipment needed for the two groups.
The jazz trio were booked to play two sets of 50 minutes between the ceremony and reception as the guests enjoyed pre-dinner drinks and canapes in the Oak Courtyard area.
The trio, featuring Simon Montgomery on alto and tenor saxophones, Ben Hall on vocals and Gavin Nickelette on piano provided a combination of well known and loved jazz standards that were received well by the gathered guests.
