MOSAIC MOMENTS® PRESENTS:
"Brett's Pond" by Jodi Benson
Hello
I had an professor in college whose name was Dot.
When I think of our "On the Dot" die, it reminds me of the time
Dot's students cut out several hundred dots and pasted them all over the art building to celebrate and wish her a happy birthday. She was a great teacher who was clearly loved by many of her students, myself included.
If she were still with us, I believe she'd enjoy the pages our
design team members have created with our featured die of the month, On the Dot. You can see a few of them below. Click on the additional articles if you'd like to see more great ideas.
Hint: If you wish you could get your own "On the Dot" dies - keep an eye on your email this
Friday.
Have a you're-worth-it week,
Tami
Potter
Go Vertical with On the Dot
"Rock Climbing Family" (Side A) by Jodi Benson - Pattern #402
Jodi used the On the Dot dies to mimic a ladder climbing up the left side of her page.
It's perfect for this rock wall climbing layout. Inside the dots, she spelled out "climb". Many times your first instinct is to go horizontally across your page but it's super fun that Jodi went vertically.
Doing the unexpected gives your layouts variety and, of course, interest.
"Rock Climbing Family" (Full) by Jodi Benson - Pattern #402 and #877
Here's the complete two page layout where each 12x12 page has a different pattern from the Pattern Gallery.
To keep the layouts cohesive, Jodi used the same colors for her mats and embellishing. She also used the same die collection, but placed them differently on the right side. She used On theDot 4x4 and put close up shots of the 'rocks', or handholds, inside her four dots.
This layout would look just as fun with your own photos and colors!

Fill the Page with On the Dot
"Springtime Activity" (Side A) by Paije Potter - Pattern #120
Paije used six On the Dot 1x4s for a strong and unique focal section in the center of her first page.
The three dots gave her a space for a title and close up shots of the spring lambs and flowers. Filling each 1x4 On the Dot inner section with the same floral paper makes this 4x6 grid section look like one fascinating design element. On the next page, she created a full page spread with the On the Dot 4x4 and 1x4s.
Scroll down to see how vibrant and exciting it looks to fill a whole page with On the Dot dies.
"Springtime Activity" (Full) by Paije Potter - Pattern #120 and #102
This Onthe Dot design gives her 12 dots to highlight parts of her photos that she loves.
She used all the same
color scheme - bright pink, light pink and white, to keep harmony and unity on the two page spread. The On the Dot 4x4 also has the large inner section that gives you a lot of space for full photos. The overall measurement of the die is 4.375x4.375 inches, and if you just fill the innermost section of the die, you need only a 4x6 inch photo.
Paije's four 4x4 photos are large enough to include all of the great colonial gardens, architectural designs and great shots of her and Sadie hunting for the spring lambs.
