MOSAIC MOMENTS® PRESENTS:
"Boston Harbor Walk" by Paije Potter
Hello
Bring out the stars and stripes!
Memorial Day is a day to remember and honor those who have served in the
military. What could be better than spending time creating beautiful patriotic scrapbook pages as a way to commemorate this special day!
There are many patriotic subjects to explore, like visits you've taken to historic battlefields and military cemeteries. No matter what you
choose to scrapbook, be sure to make it a unique and memorable page that will help you remember how you chose to honor your country and all who have served it.
Our design team is sharing some of their favorite patriotic layouts today. I hope they will inspire you to create your own pages that will be cherished for years to come.
Jodi took a trip to Gettysburg, PA for her Memorial Day layout. The X Factor dies are the perfect frames for her visit to the historical site.
For her best, most dramatic shot of the trip, Jodi used the X Factor 4x6 vertically for her focal photo. To the right and left, she placed X Factor 3x4 dies with the larger section towards her focal photo. On the top and bottom of her focal photo she placed X Factor 2x4 Dies. Then she used floral pattern paper in patriotic colors to make a diamond mat by filling in the triangles closest to the X Factor
4x6. She filled the rest of those X Factor dies with distant landscape shots. And the final four corners of her grid she used X Factor 3x3 Dies and used medium range photos.
Most of her photos were cropped from 4x6 pictures, but if they didn't fit, she sized them down to 3.25x3.25 inches or 2.125x4.375
inches with her computer and printer.
This is Throwback Tuesday and the theme of the Design Teams Challenge was America the Beautiful. We…
Horizon Dies For A Patriotic Memory
"Mount Rushmore 2019" by Jodi Benson - Pattern #679
If you like circle work on the grid, you'll love this patriotic layout from Jodi.
This layout is also great if you were having too much fun staying in the moment, and you didn't take as many photos as you normally would. Jodi's placement of her pattern paper is so fun here. Not only can you see the Horizon full page circle, but you can also see a cross. She made a column and a row with the floral pattern paper. She framed two great shots with the Horizon 4x5 of the family portrait and the long shot of the flags. Then, on either
side she used two shots that add to the story of the page.
The carving of George Washington tells you exactly where they are visiting, and the picture of the mountain goat adds a bit of novelty and extra detail to the layout of the trip to Mount Rushmore.
