A
little over 10 years ago a door opened, and it changed the way we made Mosaic Moments Scrapbook pages. It was transformational and incredible, and we probably wouldn't be here today if that opportunity hadn't come.
Though many Mosaic Moments scrapbookers are very skilled with a mat, knife and ruler (the basic tools we used for over a decade), I knew it was more
than a challenge for many people. For some it was just impossible. That's why Mosaic Moments Dies were a game changer for many scrapbookers and a delightfully easy transition for the rest.
Throughout this year Mosaic Moments will be celebrating the Basic Dies. I invite you to come on this journey with us. The pages created by our design team this week feature
the basic bundle dies. I hope they will help inspire your own creations.
Have a you're-worth-it week!

Using the Basic Dies Will Show Off Your Photos
"Utah Lake in the Winter" by Jodi Benson - Pattern #533
When you create simple designs using the basic dies, your photos become the main attraction of your page.
As your photography skills develop, you'll want to use the basic dies to your advantage on your layouts. They are great
for highlighting special photos.
With pattern #533, Jodi placed her two 4x5 epic sunset shots diagonally to one another to fill the center of the page. She created the mats with the Basic Die Bundle Set C (4.375x5.5 in. size). Also in the center are two similar 2x4 grid sized sunset photos with the subjects in shadows, which she cut with the Basic Die
Bundle Set B (4.375x2.125 in). As the only unmatted photos on the page, they stand out. The other two photos are close-ups she had, showing off the photographers skill - it's not easy taking photos with the light behind the subject. She cut the mat with the Die Set C 4x3 grid squares die from the Basic Bundle and then cropped her photos with the Layering Die Bundle Die that is 1/8in smaller - the 4.125x3.0 in die. It gives the very thinnest mat and a pop of color to the whole
layout.
Jodi finished the page with 1x1 mosaic squares of a beautiful and complementary pattern paper that is subdued enough so it doesn't take away attention from the main images.
The photographs are the
stars of this gorgeous sunset layout using only the basic dies.
In this video, you will see some all time favorite Mosaic Moments pages.
Paije will go through each one and share her tips and ideas. You will see what is working and why each one was designed amazingly. Be sure to let us know
which one was your favorite or which idea you would like to try next.
"Winter Paddleboarding" by Jodi Benson - Pattern #602
Using only the basic dies allows you to embellish your page to your heart's content.
Jodi used the basic dies that fit the grid for most of her mats and photos. She used the layering dies to show only a 1/8 inch mat all around her
long distance shots of the water. She then had her focal photo cropped with the layering die from her Basic Die Bundle for a thicker mat to draw your eye to the main photo and give it more weight. Jodi used a Cricut embossing folder to add texture to her two 1x3 and one 2x2 blue card-stock mats. She chalked the raised floral pattern with a golden color that matches her mats. To top off her beautiful layout, she added a thick, textured, rich, and striped ribbon across her 4x5 focal photo and slid
a delicate leaf charm on.
These are all simple and easy embellishments that elevate this layout using only the Basic Die Bundle and the Layering Die Bundle.
