MOSAIC MOMENTS® PRESENTS:
"Spring Break in Smithfield" by Jodi Benson - Pattern #431
Hello
What if you could use just 1 die to
make a fabulous full 12x12 page design? Say "Oh Yeah!" to Mosaic Moments 5x5 dies. Cut the outline just 4 times and you've got the start of a fabulous page!
Mosaic Moments 5x5 dies are a great solution to a whole page design; however, filling all four sections is not required to make a great page. Test the limits with your 5x5 dies by cutting 2-4 outlines to lay
on your page. Rearrange them to see how many different designs you can make. Imagine different ways you could fill them in with photos and paper. You might be surprised where they'll take you!
Hint: If you have a 5x5 die on your wish list, be sure to check your email this Friday.
The Windsor Die gives you an opportunity to create a unique mosaic within the 5x5 cuts.
Jodi used a large photo of a magnolia flower for the center of her layout where the inner corners of her four Windsor die cuts meet. Then, in
the sections that create a cross through the whole page, Jodi added individual photos in each individual diamond shape of the die. In the outside triangle design spots, she placed different colored cardstock and pattern paper that coordinate. Jodi has made a beautiful design tying all four of her Windsor die cuts together.
You only need one 5x5 Windsor
die to create this beautiful mosaic. Cut the outline four times and you don't even need to worry about finding a page pattern! This makes the Windsor a One Die Wonder. It's an Adventure Level (L3) Die that cuts down on the time needed for planning and can be as intricate or simple as you want to make it.
Even though Windsor is a "One Die Wonder" you can use it over and over and each page will be unique and special.
The Quarter Pie is one of our favorite Adventure (L3) Dies to work with, and Paije loved creating this amazing spring layout.
As another of our One Die Wonders, you only need one Quarter Pie Die to make the full layout, and you don't have to worry
about finding a page pattern. This can be a quick and easy layout if you have the right photos to fill your pie pieces.
Paije shows us how it's done with this spring layout. Flowering photos of trees and gardens are an easy way to fill the narrow pie sections. Also taking photos where your main subject is far to the right or left, top or bottom
will help you fill the sections as they are more likely to fit in the wider part of the pie piece. Paije also remembered to take many long distance shots so her photos would fit in these narrow design sections or pieces of the pie.
She finished the layout by placing many spring stickers all around the circle edge of the pie, a cute butterfly
sticker in the very center, and a sticker title "Spring" in the left corner of the page.
If you haven't tried making a Pie die layout, now's a great time with all of the spring blossoms blooming on trees and in the gardens.
