For some of us, it's the beginning of graduation season! Time to celebrate your (or a loved one's) accomplishments!
It's also a good time for grads to mull over a future career. Look for my blog post linked below for more on this [including a special offer].
Has it been a while since you wore a cap and gown? No problem! I've also got good guidance and support for you as you continue on your writing journey.
In addition, if your organization has started thinking about how you can be part of solving the climate crisis, check out the "Green Scene" below.
Happy writing,
Dalya Massachi

If you are just graduating from college, you have so many choices before you! A big one is your future career. Do you want to devote your profession to making a real difference in the world? Will work in the nonprofit sector suit you?
If you’re thinking about it, as I did when I graduated many moons ago, you’ll want to consider many factors:
What really needs to get done?
What are you good at?
What do you enjoy doing?
What will be financially sustainable?
Notice that I’m suggesting not to just focus on the issue or cause you’re passionate about, but also the actual skills you will be using. With a newly minted degree, you probably have up-to-date knowledge about your field. And that is so helpful! But you also need to know the answer to the question: “Yes, but what can you DO for us?”...

Starter Question: "How can you tell if your organization is ready to attract grants?"
If your organization isn’t prepared with the information, people, and other resources you’re going to need, you will be wasting your time and money pursuing grants. You need to make sure you are ready and able to take this on. Some of the topics I will touch on in this discussion are:
– Things to consider about the grant world
– Information essentials for successful grant writing
– Skills and resources you’ll need on your team
Wednesday, May 26:
Open Forum: Submit your questions beforehand (see above) or on the spot.
I look forward to speaking with you soon!

Were you as interested as I was to learn about the new U.S. commitments to addressing climate change?
While President Biden is enacting a “whole of government” approach to tackling the global climate crisis, thousands of communities, businesses, and nonprofits are also joining forces to get to 50-52% emissions reductions by 2030 and net-zero emissions by 2050 or sooner. It’s called “America Is All
In”.
Thus far, 147 cities, 13 counties, 1154 businesses, 42 institutional investors, 3 states, 2 tribal nations, 127 colleges and universities, 41 cultural institutions (such as museums), 149 faith groups, and 16 heath care organizations (representing more than 300 hospitals) have pledged to partner
with the Biden-Harris Administration to form a national network on climate action.
Their pledge is to “re-imagine community partnership to advance just and equitable climate solutions and build resilience to climate change” using a variety of approaches that ”develop unprecedentedly inclusive processes in the formation and implementation of new targets, policies, and programs to tackle the climate
crisis.”
This “whole of society” approach is just what we need! I’m so pleased to have joined 'America Is All In' as we center climate action in “how we do business, how we invest, how we govern, how we educate, how we serve.” I look forward to real nationwide movement in this direction.
Is your organization also interested in making a real commitment to addressing the climate crisis? Get started on theAmerica Is All In website.
