Hello, and welcome to this week’s WEN-zine nuggets.

Such a stressful time when nearing the end of a major project ... there’s the adrenaline rush of finally approaching “The End” ... or hitting the “Launch Button.” Then there’s the anxiety of Final Push Frenzy or perhaps Finish Line Frustration ... when tackling last-minute, unexpected edits or tech challenges before being allowed across that finish line.

That’s where I’m at ... ready to push the scary launch button on an info product ... with a new must-do-this-first task interrupting every hour, it seems. So watch for the big announcement ... this week, I hope. And since it about wringing the most out of content, I’m getting you into the mood by pulling this from my saved file ....

1. Creating diverse income streams that build your brand and your income

According to author coach Michael Larsen, book authors – especially those who write practical nonfiction – have more opportunities than ever to build diversified income streams from their content. I’d like to extend that to freelance writers, bloggers, actually all content creators.

He offers more than 50 ideas for building your content so as to diversify and expand your income in this article from the archives. Keep in mind, the advancement of technology tools and audience platforms since this appeared has only expanded the possibilities. Among the categories: writing, subsidiary rights, speaking, teaching, sales (the book, merchandising, subscriptions, etc.) ... and there are so many additional ways to use a piece of content ... for products and for marketing. Watch for my soon to launch Content Maximizer Guide!

2. Is Kindle Unlimited worth it?

Interesting article posted yesterday on Lifewire. A year or two ago I subscribed to Kindle Unlimited. But I stopped it this past summer as my to-do and project lists grew to the size that I could not read all KU offered ... or any of it, to be honest. I continue to read print books from the library, listen to audiobooks, and download a few free or purchased Kindle books ... but managed to get through only 30 books in 2023.

Yet I keep seeing interesting KU titles I’m missing, so the thought of “maybe” re-subscribing intrudes. This article suggests specifically who should and who should not get Kindle Unlimited. Hmmm - guess I’m still on the “shouldn’t” list ... for now.

3. Flippa launches newsletter category

Flippa is an online marketplace for buying and selling online businesses, websites, apps, and domains. This week’s news is that they have added a newsletter category.

So those of you publishing (or considering) a newsletter on Substack (yes, our WEN Center still has a course on how to start one there), Beehiiv, Mailchimp or other platforms will want to look at the possibilities.
