Big thanks to everyone who filled out the survey about the Chatroom! It looks like 8pm - 9pm (UK time) on Tuesdays suits most people, so we'll be having the chats then from now on.
Tomorrow evening, we'll have a writing session:
we'll do 10 minutes of chatting together about what everyone's working on from 8pm - 8.10pm, then 45 minutes of writing, followed by a 5 minute wrap-up where we can share our progress at the end. Hope to see you there!
There were lots of useful suggestions in the survey, and lots of helpful feedback. While weekly discussion sessions were the most popular option (just!), some people preferred fortnightly or
monthly chats and/or writing hours. A few wanted audio/video instead of text chat.
So, going forward, I'll aim to have a mix of discussion topics, writing sessions, and (if I can figure out the technology to make it happen!) occasional audio or video chats too.
If there's a particular topic you'd like us to cover in
the discussions, do let me know. I'm also very open to ideas and suggestions on what would make the chatroom work best for you (e.g. we could workshop people's writing, or have a Q&A session, or just about anything else you can think of...!)
