[Writers' Huddle] The Winter Writing Challenge begins next week -- set your goals now!

Published: Mon, 01/22/18

Hello!

It's time for a six-week Writing Challenge!

Old-timers will know how the Challenges work: we set goals to work on for six weeks, and "check in" weekly to share our progress with the group.

You can join in with any goal at all: it doesn't necessarily need to involve writing new words (yours might be editing, proofreading, setting up a blog, etc).

During the Challenge, there are weekly prizes ... plus a Grand Prize at the end. Joining in is a great way to stay motivated and focused with your writing.

You can find out all about the Winter Challenge -- and let us know that you're in! -- here:

What Seminars Would You Like in 2018?

We don't have a seminar this month (so we can focus on the Challenge) ... but I'll soon be putting together the programme of seminars for the rest of the year.

If there's a particular topic or a broad area you'd like to see covered, just let me know. You can add your suggestions here:

Also, if someone else has suggested an idea that you like, it'd be really helpful if you could let me know you're keen on it too. Thanks! :-)

Three Years Ago: Setting and Meeting Your Writing Goals in 2015, with Barry Demp

Three years ago, we talked about determining and achieving targets for the new year, with guest speaker Barry Demp.

You can get the audio seminar here, along with the transcript and worksheet:

The seminar covers:
  • Barry’s own journey from reluctant writer to author of The Quotable Coach book and blog
  • The critical difference between people who succeed with their resolutions and people who don’t
  • Setting big goals versus setting small goals: how to make both work for you
  • How to carve out more time to write, even if your life is currently packed full of commitments
You can discuss the seminar on the forums here:

Happy writing!
