We Said Go Travel Newsletter 33:  September 3, 2013

Hello from Manila, Philippines! L'Shana Tova (Happy Jewish New Year!)

Our two weeks of travel in the Philippines have been varied and fantastic! Our visit included sharing the underwater world of Balicasag with giant turtles and a tornado of jack fish as well as swimming with five school bus size Whale Sharks in Oslob, Cebu! (see photo below). We also saw the highlights of international design with Kenneth Cobonpue and the UNESCO sites of the Chocolate Hills and Underground River. I cannot wait to share all the photos and video especially of the fine hotels of Manila like Resorts World and Hotel H20 as well as Be Resort and Marco Polo in Cebu and Hotel Centro and Acacia Tree Garden Hotel in Puerto Princessa. Ricky of Cebu Holiday Tours and Rissa, the author of "The Philippines: 100 Travel Tips," have been incredible guides and friends.

Our Memoir is available: Traveling in Sin

We left last July for Indonesia for this one year journey and five years ago in July for our first one year sabbatical! Read our memoir, Traveling in Sin, to learn how we met online, and chose to meander from Indonesia to Mongolia. Along the way, I lost over fifty pounds and we got engaged underwater. This book is NOT a collection of blog posts. We have never published this story before! Enjoy all the colorful characters we met and the tears and triumphs of a Peace Corps Worker and a Princess (cruises employee) finding their way together in Asia.
