Tomato Powder in your Food Storage: 12 ways to use it

THRIVE TOMATO POWDER! This is one of our all-time favorite products to keep in our food storage. It removes the necessity to store so many tomato-based products and it is so easy to use.  If you want juice, sauce, or paste you just adjust how much water you use.

Here are 12 ways you can use Thrive Tomato Powder

1. TOMATO SAUCE
1/4 c. tomato powder + 1 cup of water = 8 ounce jar of tomato sauce

2. PIZZA SAUCE

2 T. tomato powder + 6 T. of water
Add Italian seasoning or garlic bread seasoning

3. TOMATO PASTE
1/4 cup tomato powder + 1/2 cup water = 6 oz can of tomato paste

4. TOMATO JUICE
1 T. tomato powder + 8-10 T. water
Add onion powder, sugar, salt, pepper, to taste if desired

5. SPAGHETTI SAUCE
1/2 c. tomato powder + 2 cups of water
Season as desired
1 tsp. oregano
1 tsp. parsley
1 tsp. basil
1 tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. onion salt
Dash of Worcestershire sauce

6. TOMATO SOUP
1 c. tomato powder + 3 c. water (adjust for desired thickness)
1 T. chicken bouillon
1/2 c. diced onion, sauteed
3/4 c. cream
1 T. sugar
Salt and Italian seasoning to taste

7. KETCHUP
1 c. tomato powder and 3 1/2 cups water
1/3 c. honey
1/3 c. cider vinegar
2 T. minced onion
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
1/2 tsp. dry mustard
1/8 tsp. allspice
1/8 tsp. cloves
1/8 tsp. ground coriander seeds
Combine all of the ingredients and bring it to a boil, stirring frequently. Reduce the heat and allow it to simmer for about half an hour until it reaches the consistency of ketchup. Recipe from http://www.organic-gardening-and-homesteading.com

8. BARBECUE SAUCE
1/2 cup tomato powder
1 cup water
1/3 cup sugar
2 T. a vinegar
1 T Worcestershire sauce
1 T soy sauce
1 T mustard
1 clove garlic, pressed
2 T minced onion
1/4 teaspoon Cayenne pepper (optional)
Salt & pepper to taste
Mix all ingredients in large saucepan, heat on low for 15 minutes.

9. ENCHILADA SAUCE
2 1/2 c. water
1 tsp. chili powder
1 tsp. cumin
1/8 tsp. chipotle powder or cayenne
1/4 tsp. THRIVE Chef's Choice
1 tbsp. THRIVE Chopped Onions - FD
1 tbsp. garlic, minced
1 tsp. THRIVE Tomato Powder
2 tbsp. THRIVE Green Chili Peppers - FD
1/3 c. THRIVE Espagnole (Savory Beef Gravy)
1 1/2 tsp. lime juice
1 tbsp. THRIVE Cilantro
1/4 c. sour cream
In a small saucepan, combine all ingredients except sour cream and simmer for 4–5 minutes. Puree sauce in blender until smooth. Return to stove and heat to a simmer. Turn off heat and fold in sour cream. Fill and top enchiladas with sauce.

10. SPANISH RICE
Take your favorite Spanish rice recipe and replace the tomato paste or tomatoes with tomato powder in an equivalent amount. 

11. AS A THICKENER
Any savory soup, stew, or chili can be thickened by sprinkling in some tomato powder. Use like you would cornstarch

12. AS A TOPPING
Sprinkle tomato powder straight out of the can as a topping for popcorn, deviled eggs, hummus, etc.
