DaVinci Resolve Changes the Game

If you haven't had your weekly fill of DaVinci Resolve news, this article should sate it somewhat. No real news in here. Mostly a good summary of everything we know about the next version of Resolve.

Avid's Euphonix Integration

Steve Hullfish reports Tao Of Color's news that Avid is promising Euphonix control surface integration. Here's how he wraps it up:

"Wow. I started out posting this thread on a hopeful note and within about 300 words, went totally cynical. Dashed dreams will do that to you."

The whole post is a good read.

How to Find Your Strengths

"Just because you're good at something, doesn't make it a strength."

So says financial guru Dave Ramsey. It definitely gave me something to think about.

Sunday Morning Funnies: 8-bit Cities

I spent a good deal of this week talking 8bit & 10bit. When this came across my desktop... well, I just had to share. Enjoy!

Euphonix MC Color: Training Update

Yesterday I started recording the MC Color control surface training. Here's the plan: Due to an extremely heavy work load for the next 4 weeks, training will trickle out slowly. Once the free "Overview" training is released (figure, early / mid August), I'll be rolling out the paid training. Here's how it will work:

MC Color: In Development - (mid-August) This will be a lower-cost method of getting access to the training as each individual module is released. Subscribers will have an opportunity to comment upon and make suggestions for improvements. These Tao Colorists will get early looks at the training before it goes into final release.

MC Color: Gold Master - (mid-September) If you don't have the patience for the modules to trickle out, then wait for the Gold Master to be released. You'll have full access to the entire MC Color training set.

MC Color: a La Carte - (mid-September) If you don't want to spend money for the entire series, you can pick just a few of the modules.

A Tao Of Color forum member is trying to figure out how have a something approaching a professional monitoring solution without busting the bank.

Is there such a thing as 'close enough'? Is he just fooling himself?
