A rigorous selection process of over 300 outstanding applications found our Selection Committee of 15 diverse and dedicated judges impressed and challenged with the quality of our young rural applicants! Join us in celebrating the excellence demonstrated in the academic performance, community service and vision of these applicants. We thank all 300+ for honoring us with their stories.
And, the winner is…..
The 2020 Wisconsin Rural Opportunities Foundation, Inc. Premier Scholarship has been awarded to Peyton Mykel-Marie Clark from Ontario, Wisconsin. Peyton graduated from Brookwood High School and her parents are Todd and Tracy Clark. She will receive $2,500/semester towards her tuition for up to four semesters for a
total award of $10,000! Peyton is pursuing a degree in Elementary Education at Western Technical College. She is deeply involved in her family dairy, beef and crop farm and looks forward to bringing agriculture into the classroom upon her graduation as she teaches in her home rural area.
In addition, Brookwood High School will receive a $5,000 grant to apply towards a STEM or Agricultural project that will benefit students overall at this high school.
Joan Behr, WROF, Inc Board President told a very excited Peyton during her award announcement call, “You are exactly the type of student our Board was hoping to find in this processes. You have already demonstrated your work-ethic, strong academics and passion for rural Wisconsin.” Especially in these times, the financial help assures that Peyton can attend school. While she
will still work and help on the family farm, this will be a terrific help to the tuition of over $2,500 per semester.
Congratulations!
In addition to this first-ever Premier Scholar award, the WROF, Inc. awards over 60 scholarships and loans to over 30 colleges, tech schools and leadership programs throughout
Wisconsin.
The WROF, Inc exists to make a difference in the vitality of rural Wisconsin. We have every faith that Peyton Mykel-Marie Clark will move rural Wisconsin forward in new and wonderful
ways. We celebrate Peyton and her accomplishments. Shine On!
