Update from Your RV Workers On Wheels Newsletter Editor

"It's a tough job, but somebody's got to do it." We were sitting in Pancho's Bar at the El Disco Super Center in Nuevo Progreso. The cerveza was cold. The margaritas were smooth and salty. There was live music and dancing; authentic Mexican food; and people to watch. We were with RV park friends and we were all having a good time. One of the guys must have repeated it a dozen times, grinning at his own joke, "It's a tough job, but somebody's got to do it."

What he didn't realize is that for Bob and me, it was part of our job. Oh, we were enjoying ourselves as much as anyone else. In many senses of the word, it was not work: no time clock to punch; no boss to be accountable to; no employment agreement; no wages earned; and no dreaded duties that we needed to perform. But, I snapped pictures. I took a few notes on my phone. Back in the states, I'm writing about our experience.

You've heard the expression, "Do what you love and the money will follow." There's more truth to that than what many people choose to believe. There's more truth to that than what many people are willing to make happen.

Wherever you are in your work and travels, we wish you joy and prosperity,

Coleen

JR Watkins - A Location Independent Business for RVers

Bob and I have been selling JR Watkins products since 2005. People love the vanilla, cinnamon, and pepper, the old time remedies, and the natural skin care products - and that makes it easy to sell. The business is extremely flexible. You do as much or as little as you want. No minimum orders. They'll drop-ship the products for you. Work the business wherever your RV travels take you -- USA or Canada. See the product catalog and learn more.

Working RVer Tip -- Acing the Interview

Go in with the right attitude. Be positive and pleasant. Focus on your good qualities and the best aspects of your personality, rather than on your faults and weaknesses. Show an interest in the business -- and the success of the business.

Your Campground Job Resume: Who You Are and What You Can Do

Your campground job resume should show the park owner who you are, as well as what you can do. When writing a resume for most campground jobs and many other seasonal jobs, think personable rather than professional. Let your personality show. That's not to say that your resume should be silly or garish -- unless of course, you are silly and garish on the job.

Working RVer Tip -- Overcoming Lack of Experience

A smile and eye contact at a job interview may be more important than a resume filled with decades of work history. Emphasize your skills and abilities, not your newness to work camping or your lack of experience.
