Sometimes We Get To Brag...

... About Multiphysics Simulation & Computational Analysis

That is right. The world of Multiphysics Simulation brings wonderful advances that we often do not get to mention or point out because so many of the organizations we work with are working on very sensitive technology that needs to be kept quiet until the appropriate time. But when that time comes, and we have a chance to point out some really cool work, we get pretty excited. So we have briefly referenced three Multiphysics Simulation-related happenings below that we are super excited about...

1) We recently published a new Blog about the fantastic work one of our clients, Seal Well Inc., has been doing in the Oil and Gas Industry to help put a lid on greenhouse gases escaping from old wells. Homer L. Spencer, P. Eng. at Seal Well Inc. in Calgary, Alberta, Canada came up with a solution, and called on AltaSim Technologies to do some multiphysics simulation. The results were a breakthrough and Seal Well should be recognized for bringing a very valuable solution to an industry with a very large problem. (In Alberta alone, it is estimated that 280,000 of 430,000 oil and gas wells drilled could need sealing in the future. Until Homer's solution, which will be a fraction of the costs, it was etimated that each well would cost between $300,000 and $8,000,000 to seal.) Thanks Homer and the Seal Well team. Read the blog for more details.

2) COMSOL Conference 2015 in Boston is almost upon us. We are seeing more and more organizations striving to take advantage of the benefits of Multiphysics Simulation, and we look forward to meeting old friends and new friends at the Conference October 7-9. Dr. Jeffrey Crompton, Principal here at AltaSim will be presenting a Keynote on Computational Simulation Apps: Development and Deployment, and he will be delivering a couple Papers, one specifically highlighting the Seal Well work mentioned above - Mitigation of Greenhouse Gas Leakage in Oil and Gas Wells. The others are:
  • Multiphysics Analysis of an Infrared Bolometer
  • Plasmonic WaveGuide Analysis

3) October 15, 2015, we will be hosting a FREE COMSOL Workshop - COMSOL Multiphysics, Application Builder & Fluid Flow at our Training Center. We invite those readers within close proximity to register, attend and continue their growth in Multiphysics Simulation. Details on the Workshop can be found here. For directions to our office, start here.

It is true... We love seeing people be successful in this industry! Maybe we will get to brag about your work soon.

Until next time...
