New in Your AWeber Account: Foreign Characters + Emojis! 😎

Published: Thu, 03/05/15

Hi ,

What's the best way to connect with your subscribers? You speak their language!

AWeber now supports unicode, a character set that allows you to include foreign characters, symbols and emoticons (or emojis) in your emails.

Before we show you all the cool ways you can take advantage of unicode characters, it's important to note that not all browsers and email providers support foreign and special characters. Always test your emails first!

5 Ways to Use Special Characters in Your Emails

  1. Have an intercontinental email list? Send targeted emails to your subscribers in their native languages. Be sure to add international keyboards to your computer if you haven't already!
  2. Add an emoji to your subject line to grab attention for a time-sensitive email. Remember to split test emails with special characters before you send!
  3. Try personalization in your emails. If a new subscriber with a symbol or accent in their name signs up to your list, you can rest assured it will display correctly.
  4. Show off your brand's personality with special characters. Your customers will ❤︎ this.
  5. Survey your subscribers to find out which language they prefer so you can attract the right audience. Foreign and special characters work in forms, too!
