Hey
One of the big markers of Perimenopause (and menopause) is how our mood and overall mental + emotional health show up on a daily basis.
It drives me crazy that women will go to their doctor to ask for help, and instead of listening to the woman in front of them, asking more questions and considering that the massive hormonal shift of Perimenopause could be part of the reason why she's feeling this way, the doctor will recommend an anti-depressant or an anti-anxiety medication...
What this woman is going through are hormone
fluctuations!
This woman is not deficient in a medication. She is in a hormone insufficiency state.
Now, I'm not saying medicinal interventions aren't ever needed, but most certainly not as a first line support.
What do we need when we're experiencing a period of high fluctuations with our hormones?
- More Minerals
- Nutrients & Nourishment
- Support for our metabolic health
- Support for our gut health
- Support for our nervous
system
and for many women, hormone replacement therapy should be a consideration.
The truth is that there are years of catch up that have to happen in order for the time, energy, scope and skillset to shift in helping the Perimenopausal woman within our current healthcare system.
So, if you've always been going for that single pronged, very linear medical approach, you're probably going to feel dismissed and very frustrated and not be any
further ahead.
