As women, we’ve been sold a lie that as we
approach our late 30’s and move into our 40’s and beyond - our health, our mood, our libido, our energy and our vitality will start to decline.
That this time in our life is going to be crappy and that it’s meant to be a struggle.
I am here to tell you NO - it does not need to be that way.
SO many women I coach and that we work with say they didn’t even know that Perimenopause was a phase they will experience! They thought they had a period for X amount of years and then one day it would stop.
When it stops it means you’ve arrived at Menopause…that’s not quite the whole story .
Perimenopause is
the bridge for us as women that represents the single largest cascade of hormonal fluctuations we will ever experience in our lifetime outside of pregnancy… and it is a lengthy journey!
On average a woman will spend 8-12 years in Perimenopause with subtle changes starting in her mood, energy, emotions, body composition, sleep, her period, libido, hair and skin during this phase.
Deeper and more pronounced changes arise closer to her mid-40’s and beyond and it becomes obvious that the way she used to eat, her fitness and how she moves through life are no longer going to serve her.
The things that used to work before will likely NOT work through Perimenopause and beyond. She approaches her health in the same way + she changes nothing... yet how she
experiences just about everything changes.
This can be one of the most confusing and frustrating times in a woman’s life.
When she seeks out support, she offered very little or she is offered bandaids; the pill, IUD’s, ablations, sometimes surgery, medication or told to simply deal with it.
It frustrates me
beyond belief because I know there is a different way!
