Strategy Game CampStrategy-Games camp is an innovative and fun way to teach children the logic and strategy behind a variety of games in a way that incorporates many STEM concepts while having fun learning games both new and old!We use a variety of games (some with deep historical impact and some home-brew games available only at BAC) to introduce the student to concepts in probability, game theory, pattern recognition, deductive reasoning, cooperation and creative thinking that leads to optimal decision-making in games of all types. We will be analyzing rules, dissecting the math behind certain game mechanics, learning and discussing polyhedrons, cards, sportsmanship, resource management, risk assessment, and then eventually creating our own abstract or thematic boardgames! On the last day of camp, students are encouraged to bring in their own favorite (yet approved) games from home to teach to other students and run their own stations. Students should be at least 7 years old or with a Coach referral. Coaches James Bethany, Jasmine Kaur and Jason Uerkvitz will lead the camps, bringing their vast experience in Strategy Games and Coaching to make a unique and fun filled week! No Strategy Games camp is the same, as the coaches incorporate and provide a variety of different concepts and the selection can vary from week to week.
