Hey !
I know how patiently you've waited for this one. Me too, actually. 😉
Eddie Stern has always been a teacher I've wanted to meet and practice with. Still, I was nervous...
But that was only until I met him. Because walking into Eddie's shala feels like visiting the home of a friend. And maybe that's because it IS actually his home.
Warm. Welcoming. Comfortable. Eddie is the same sitting with us, chatting on the couch, as he was teaching the led class that morning. Even inviting students to skip vinyasas or postures if they need.
I ask Eddie about this to which he sweetly responds:
"You
have to make room for everybody. Some people have shoulder problems. Or they have this problem or that problem and I know that ... so sometimes you just need to have someone say to you, 'You don't have to do that. Don't worry. This way is fine too.' Otherwise you feel bad about yourself. And that's the opposite of yoga."
There is just so much goodness packed into our hour-long conversation. True, much of
the time we discussed the yoga as a scientific method. (For this, you'll want to take notes. Or I did!)
But as brilliant a mind as Eddie clearly has, I am reminded over and over again why I'm there. It's his heart that touches mine.
And I know - some things are worth the
wait.
